1 / 10.0 - Bravo Team
Mar 7, 2018

Some games are terrible. Bravo Team is one of them, unfortunately. That's not my favourite way to start a review, but there's no getting away from the fact that SuperMassive's latest VR effort is just bad.

3 / 10.0 - Island Time VR
Apr 2, 2018

Island Time VR might have been a fun pick up and play game had it cost £3.99 or something similar, however, there is no way I could possibly recommend you pay £16.99 for what essentially feels like a demo. There are so many better games out there which you should spend your hard earned cash and time on. It disappoints me to say this, but spend your money on something else.

5 / 10.0 - Crisis VRigade
Feb 6, 2019

I wanted Crisis VRigade to be the VR Time Crisis I have always wanted, unfortunately, it wasn’t. It’s not terrible, it’s just very repetitive and bland. Dying often, sometimes from one shot gets old, fast. Especially when you have to trudge through the same rooms with identical enemy layout every time, it’s too predictable and static. I am not one for shying away from difficult games, I do love a challenging game but this title sometimes felt somewhat unfair and the gameplay was not enjoyable enough to work through it.

To be honest, I quite liked Grand Tour Video Game at first, it seemed like quite a novel idea and to begin with it was quite fun, however, the novelty soon wears off and becomes more monotonous.

5 / 10.0 - STAY
Sep 24, 2018

Quinn is the one who explores the game, each nook and cranny and the one who is a threat from a ticking clock. For the most part you are just a passenger in his story, it’s a great concept but a few creases need ironing out to make STAY an truly unmissable game.

For a franchise built on such a novel concept to drop everything it’s known for in it’s transition to a multiplayer setting is disappointing. Scribblenauts Showdown is fun for a night in with friends, but that said, I can’t see them asking to play it again after the first time.

While being very similar to its predecessor, Devious Dungeon 2 does do a few things to improve its overall gameplay. Mini-bosses, classes and quests do improve the game overall but I don’t think it’s enough to differentiate itself from the first title. The gameplay, while being fun does eventually start to wear thin. A lot of enemies were taken from the first game and I would have liked a lot more fresh and intricate enemy designs, especially on the bosses.

6 / 10.0 - Past Cure
Feb 22, 2018

As you progress through the game, there are so many twists and turns in Past Cure that you never really know what’s going to happen next. It’s also fair to say some of these twists and the settings they are based within, are a lot better than others. Past Cure has some fantastic ideas, although it’s almost as if developer Phantom 8 Studio is trying to settle on a genre it feels most comfortable with so has used Past Cure as a way to throw a whole load of them into one game and see which it likes best.

6 / 10.0 - Oure
Nov 7, 2017

Oure’s story unfolds in a world ravaged by dusk and devoid of hope. A young girl who dreams of soaring above the clouds and gliding alongside mighty titans (ancient sky creatures tasked with keeping peace over the world below) is mysteriously gifted with the power to transform into a flying dragon and tasked with trying to bring an end to this time of darkness.

Bridge Constructor Stunts is a mobile game ported to console and it shows. There is a lack of polish and it's all over fairly quickly. If you love the series you'll still get a lot out of this game though, as it's challenging, fun and there's plenty of opportunities to crash and set your vehicles alight, which is always good for a laugh.

6 / 10.0 - Prey
Aug 28, 2017

This psychological horror first-person shooter is set on the abandoned and desolate space station, Talos 1. Accompanied only by aggressive alien life, our protagonist Morgan (male/female depending on the player’s choice) is a marooned scientist suffering with complicated memory loss. Prey follows Morgan’s attempt to escape and prevent the alien Typhons from escaping with him.

6.5 / 10.0 - Anamorphine
Aug 6, 2018

Overall the game encompasses a powerful message told in a powerful way. Everything is thoughtfully implemented, faded colours show signs of depression and in Anamorphine small and subtle acts lead to bigger things. Anamorphine and its core message made me wonder. However, when I look back on this game I will remember the lags, repetition hidden amidst Elena’s powerful story.

LEGO Incredibles certainly has its charms, but it just doesn’t hit the heights of some of the best LEGO games out there. It falls short with the length of its campaign and the lack of characters, but perhaps that more down to the franchise this game is based on rather than there being a lack of ideas.

Dropping in like a hard-earned supply drop is Call Of Duty: WWII’s second expansive DLC pack, The War Machine. In this second helping of DLC content, Sledgehammer Games have introduced three new multiplayer maps, an new operation for the objective-orientated War Mode and hell continues to ensue in a brand new Nazi Zombies chapter. Although this expansion will no doubt test your patience with frustratingly dysfunctional spawn points, it also breathes a refreshed ambience into the franchise as we see two new settings make their way onto the playlists of the shooter series popular online multiplayer.

6.5 / 10.0 - Darksiders III
Nov 26, 2018

Am I still a massive fan of the Darksiders series and do I think Darksiders 3 is a worthy addition? My answer of course is yes, however, I’m more looking forward to Darksiders 4 to see if the developer learns from its mistakes. Perhaps next time they can spend a bit more money on Quality Assurance too.

6.8 / 10.0 - We Happy Few
Aug 13, 2018

We Happy Few is enticing, and the premise of this twisted dystopian thriller certainty has its hooks. The setting is eerie and heavily implemented regulations leave the city of Wellington Wells feeling dense with pressure and rules. It’s a tale reminiscent of George Orwell’s 1984, but for this game to also become a classic it still needs some work.

7 / 10.0 - Undead Horde
May 20, 2019

I really enjoyed my time with this quirky little game. It does not overstay it’s welcome and was fun from start to finish. It’s a nice mix of different genres and I especially enjoyed raising an undead army and using them to quell my foes. The game has a nice steady stream of unlocks and new features to experience. Managing your undead army is fun, rewarding and combat does have some strategy and tactical nuances.

7 / 10.0 - Truberbrook
Apr 22, 2019

While I enjoyed my time in Trüberbrook, I did find the story a bit haphazard. That being said, the story was good enough to keep me invested until the end of the tale and at times, comical. I loved the art style, characters and environments. The whole aesthetic was very pleasing and beautiful to look at. The game does bring some welcome gameplay tweaks to the point and click formula to cut down on pointless trial and error meandering. I liked that a lot, more point and click games should do this and I really appreciated it.

7 / 10.0 - Dungeon Stars
Feb 20, 2019

There are hidden depths and strategy to be had if you look deep enough. Even though I am not a fan of auto-runners, I got used to it eventually and just sat back and enjoyed the combat system. The combat system is fun and easy to operate, the loot and upgrading your team of heroes is rewarding.

For now, the future of the final season is up in the air and we can’t be sure as to what will happen with the two remaining unpublished episodes. If this is the last, we see of Clementine its been a bittersweet adventure, one which I hope gets the ending it deserves.
