In an era when survival horror titles often equip you with an Uzi and a rocket launcher, Bendy and the Ink Machine goes pure old school. You’ll need to keep your wits about you and get creative to survive.
Achtung! Cthulhu Tactics presents itself as competent with solid gameplay, but is very much lacking in character or depth to keep you playing beyond one playthrough. The framework is there but its crying out for more in the way of variety that could be fixed with some decent DLC content.
Overall the game is pretty enjoyable puzzle game and should last most people about 6-7 hours to get through the storyline and its different puzzles, you just need to be able to see past the frustrating elements to get the best out of the game.
The difficulty can put a lot of people of but it can also attract people who really want to be challenged and although this might not be as difficult as the original souls games it is certainly up there.
Overall this is a competent and enjoyable tactical strategy game, the story is good even if the missions can become a little samey, the game isn’t going to live up to the much more polished games in the genre but given the price difference this is well worth the money.
Road Redemption deserves praise for staying faithful to the core game play of Road Rash, but doesn’t have enough polish or weight (quite literally when handling the bikes) to make it a worthy successor to the old classic.
It was kind of fun to play, but after the amount of times I died, it slowly became repetitive and unfortunately, it didn’t win over my heart.
Overall, The Bradwell Conspiracy was a mixed experience for me. The narrative and aesthetics of the game are beautifully crafted. The look of this game is nothing short of amazing and the level design, especially with the puzzles, are enticing yet challenging.
Overall there isn’t a massive amount of depth here but given the price and the level this game is pitched at the developers have done a pretty good job.
Essentially this really is a Diablo 3 clone with the Warhammer licence slathered all over it, unfortunately it doesn’t have the polish or the depth of Diablo 3
For those that have played ToeJam & Earl in their distant past and became fans, you will love Back in the Groove, as it captures the feel and look of the original and gives you a game you’ll be very familiar with.
Overall I think Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame 2 is something that has been made for the enthusiasts and players who are already fans of the sport. Despite the smooth slick presentation, I’m not sure many new converts will be won over to the sport, as its not really a game you can just pick up and play.
Overall this is another mixed bag of quality, for me personally I can only see me and my friends playing Mad Verse City and Patently Stupid the most, there is no real star here but it is an ok pack to wheel out at a party, it is ok value for money and some fun to be had just don’t expect a long lifespan from any of the games.
In short, Call of Cthulhu, despite its shortcomings, builds to a cinematic, haunting and satisfying conclusion which will leave you simultaneously relieved it’s over and gasping for more.
The King`s Bird is a beautiful ID title though that will find a core of gamers that love it. Just be prepared for some patience and learning.
War Tech Fighters is a game that in parts, is good. I enjoyed it on the whole. It`s something a bit different, and although it`s not going to offer you loads of replay ability and in short bursts it is good fun.
Final thoughts? Well worth the small investment if you want a game to play through without a huge challenge and doesn’t need a huge amount of time pouring into it, really enjoyed my time with it.
Overall this is a great remake of three wonderfully animated and enjoyable games, just don’t expect that you are going to get hours and hours of enjoyment out of them, it is likely to be a little shortlived.
Sparklite is one of those games that can take you an hour or a year to complete! If you are a fan of the top-down action games of old, then you’re going to especially love this game! The joy of it as I said in my intro, is that it is clearly inspired by but not a gimmicky copy of the classic Zelda games.
Close to the Sun is certainly an enjoyable journey, one that does include some jump scares and horror moments along the way while exploring what is a bit of a disturbing view on an alternate timeline.
