Sadly, I can't imagine a single scenario that I would actually want to play Awkward with anyone.

Ultimately, TurbOT is a game with interesting ideas held down by very poor execution. When the game works, it's a lot of fun, letting players slide through complex tracks with ease. Unfortunately, the game only works when it's being played perfectly

Derivative and bereft of any meritorious ideas of its own, Fallen: A2P Protocol is the first really big disappointment of 2018, because in the hands of a mature, talented developer, that idea could have been brilliant.

Even if you don't care about the poor storytelling and juvenile understanding of the noir genre, Metropolis is still a supremely bland and uninteresting match-3 game; one that doesn't integrate the gameplay and narrative together in a particularly interesting way and yet somehow also wants people to play it four times to experience all the endings.

Sadly, Busby: The Woolies Strike Back barely meets the quality standards and expectations of the genre in its infancy, let alone all these years later.

I don't actively dislike Don't Knock Twice. I just find it painfully bland and generic... and really, it's harder to forgive that in the horror genre than almost any other.

Unfortunately for me Darkwood is unintelligible, and I'm genuinely sad that I wasn't able to appreciate the many merits of a game because I simply had no way of actually making sense of it.

Assuming concentration is a problem worth solving (an assumption lacking the solidest of foundations), I will argue there are better, significantly more efficient, ways to address it than through another game from a device that's otherwise a regular dopamine provider by its own rights.

Flip Wars' problem is that it has no depth whatsoever. That silly, simple, chaotic, and utterly pointless button masher that you had a quick laugh at when you play it for the first time really is all that's on offer.

MechRunner might work as a mobile game. With some fixes to hit detection, it could be a mildly enjoyable way of wasting a few moments while you wait for a bus. But when I settle in and get comfy for some gaming at home, I want something that's going to hold my attention for more than five minutes, and MechRunner barely manages even that.

About the best thing I can say about it is that it's not overly long, which in itself will sound like a criticism to some, but after witnessing Persona 5 ruin itself by being fifty hours long, I've come to admire JRPGs that know not to outstay their welcome. Revenant Saga at least knows that its ability to hold my attention is limited.

The generically pleasing, colourful aesthetics are charming in a fashion, though the endlessly looping music will remind you why you'd turn the sound off when games of its ilk, like Farmville, were big on Facebook.

For some reason Nintendo insists that Mario Sports games should be vapid experiences that insult the intelligence of the very young children that they seem to be pitched at.

This kind of game flies by okay as a little mobile time waster, but a PlayStation 4 experience needs to offer much more than this.

Crystal Rift possesses all the potential in the world, and I certainly hope the game performs well enough that the development team is able to go back to the drawing board and come up with a more comprehensive and nuanced structure for another crack at the VR dungeon crawler. Because, as I said at the start, for all its many flaws as a game, Crystal Rift has absolutely sold me on the idea of the VR dungeon crawler.

The game is simply too limited, too clunky, too ugly, and too underdeveloped for its own good. Especially when Blast ‘em Bunnies does the same thing, only much better. The extra VR effect in Ace Banana just isn’t worth the trade-off in every other way.

Despite all this, Coffin Dodgers is fun in its way, but it’s hard to recommend when there are so many other games out there that do what this one does, but far better. There are some great ideas at the core of this though, and it would have been nice to see how they shaped up with a bit more direction and some extra time in the oven.

The game looks poor, even by Wii U’s budget end standards, and the game was only remotely playable if I was the host of a party

There's no fun to be had in Baseball Riot, just monotony.

Calvino Noir cannot be saved by its mystery storyline or impressive graphics because it is just too flawed on a technical level.
