Nintendo Times's Reviews

Super Daryl Deluxe is a really funny game that features outstanding visual presentation and unique and creative areas to traverse. Unfortunately it falls short in the gameplay department, with repetitive and boring combat. Still, the game is worth a shot if you like mysteries, comedy, and want something completely strange on your Switch.

6.5 / 10.0 - Bombslinger
Apr 11, 2018

I really wanted to like Bombslinger and in some ways I did. The grueling difficulty spikes (which are randomized) and the game’s bugs got in the way of my enjoyment. The multiplayer mode is probably worth the price of admission for those looking for an alternative to Bomberman.

The Way Remastered is a breed of games that doesn’t get made much these days. It tells a touching story through minimal exposition and focuses on isolation and adventure. There are tons of ways to instantly die, so be prepared for lots of trial and error. Thankfully respawns are instant with no load times.

8 / 10 - KAMIKO
Apr 29, 2018

Kamiko is short, but it’s only $5. It’s easy to pick up and play for a short time. The three characters offer up unique ways to play, the boss fights are fun, and the speed-runs add to the lasting appeal. Overall, Kamiko is great!

7.5 / 10.0 - Raging Justice
May 8, 2018

Raging Justice takes what you love about classic brawlers and marries it with current day sensibilities. With multiple difficulty levels and settings, leaderboards, and extra stage challenges, there’s more to this game than meets the eye. While it doesn’t do anything revolutionary for the genre, it’s still a great deal of fun and well worth your $15.

I really wanted to like Death Road To Canada more than I did. It features decent combat, rewarding exploration, and a funny story. The roguelike elements frustrated me and the two-player co-op fell flat. If you don’t mind random events ending your game, then this one’s for you!

Wizard of Legend is a good one-player game, but an ever better game for two players. It has outstanding replay value because of the procedurally generated dungeons and combat system, and two amazing two-player modes. I recommend playing this game with a friend.

The Adventures of Elena Temple delivers exactly what GrimTalin wanted to deliver: a solid platform adventure game full of puzzles, traps, and items to collect to feed that completion hungry beast. It’s an excellent title to sit down and play for 10 minutes or a few hours if you really get into it. The price is very good for what you are getting and I would recommend it for anyone who likes this type of game or is looking to recapture the old days without playing an actual old game from that era.

May 21, 2018

Presented in black and white and featuring a great story, White Night should satisfy horror adventure fans. There’s no combat to be found here, and expect a ton of reading, but if that’s your thing you’ll find lots to enjoy here.

10 / 10.0 - Ikaruga
May 25, 2018

Ikaruga is an outstanding classic, which I find myself mentioning to anyone who will listen. It is a defining game in the shooting genre that all gamers should experience. The Switch version is true to the arcade, but goes above and beyond with the portable vertical play and global leaderboards. Don’t miss out!

Curse of the Moon is the spiritual successor to Dracula’s Curse that no one saw coming. It’s a special game for early fans of the Nintendo Entertainment System and Castlevania series. I think this game will exceed players’ expectations, especially fans of Castlevania and Ninja Gaiden. At only $10, it’s a steal!

Fallen Legion: Rise to Glory gives you two separate 2D side-scrolling action-RPG experiences in one game. You can choose the Empire’s Princess Cecille or her rival Legatus Laendur. Having this choice gives you a good value for the purchase. With excellent hand-drawn graphics and good music, it’s a solid choice for the RPG genre. Check it out if you had it on the PS4 and want to play what you may have missed on the Vita or vice versa.

I had a lot of fun with this game and put many more hours into it then I would have expected. I got really into building my character’s stats up and tried to reach the top rankings in all the leagues. Those looking for a great fighting game should look elsewhere, but I’d urge you to give this one a chance. It just might suck you in!

8.5 / 10.0 - West of Loathing
Jun 2, 2018

Thanks to its superb writing and zany cast of characters, West of Loathing is a must-play turn-based RPG for the Switch. What it lacks in graphical special effects, it totally makes up for in the humor department. It is yet another great addition to your Switch library!
