Why not? It’s free. Except if you want to customize your character. That takes some actual dough and earning customization in the game is honestly just too much work to bother. But that’s not really important. Nobody is going to comment how sexy your pants make you look when you’re dead on the ground. How could they anyway? There’s no voice chat proximity.

Done Running didn’t give that much of a great impression as a season starter. You’re more focused on many things like making AJ apologize to a lot of people in the group which took a few more minutes and other unnecessary fillers. While I do understand that Telltale Games is trying to build up the characters and their relationship that would eventually be a huge impact in the season finale, knowing that this final season is only up to four episodes, they could have focused more on Clementine and AJ in the first episode like what they did with Javier in Season 3: A New Frontier.

6.5 / 10.0 - We Happy Few
Aug 30, 2018

Overall, the game could have been something amazing. Alas, that’s not the case. It stands between being mediocre and exceptional, making it feel like “meh”. You can still find some fun out of it, but that all depends on how you wish to take on the game. I personally felt like the gameplay hasn’t done the plot justice as it’s one of the more interesting ones in today’s current generation of games. So give it a shot if you feel like it and try to see what fun you can get out of We Happy Few.

9 / 10.0 - Shenmue 1 & 2
Aug 31, 2018

Shenmue is game that truly becomes captivating because of the experience and the story that surrounds itself with mystery. For those without the patience, the progression may not be what others are looking for, but I think more story-heavy games should incorporate that kind of steady build-up that balances with timely action sequences that makes it feel a little less linear than it actually is.

8 / 10.0 - Planet Alpha
Sep 5, 2018

All in all, for what the game is supposed to be, it does it really well. Yes, there are some minor inconveniences but that’s all they were, minor. It’s just a shame that it’s one of the shorter ones out there, but it was still a pretty good time—aside from the end, let’s leave it at that. So if you want, give Planet Alpha a go. It’s definitely worth it in terms of how it looks and it can get pretty fun.

8 / 10.0 - Flipping Death
Sep 5, 2018

Zoink’s latest IP sure knows how to convince players that death isn’t something (or someone) to be afraid of. If you still are, however, then you can always just muster your confidence and run around… Flipping Death.

8 / 10.0 - Phantom Doctrine
Sep 19, 2018

I had fun playing the Phantom Doctrine but it’s not a perfect game by any means. While it’s true that this isn’t going to be a game for everyone to enjoy, those who are a fan of turn-based strategy games with emphasis on micromanaging your troops might find it enjoyable. It really brought out the OCD in me. In short, if you’re like me and have an obsession with every detail about how you play a game, then Phantom Doctrine is worth a buy.

8 / 10.0 - Yakuza Kiwami 2
Sep 25, 2018

Yakuza Kiwami 2 is a bit of a mixed bag for me with so many small issues, but tons of great aspects. Hopefully the next remaster will be a better one with improved gameplay, visuals, facial animations, and more. Maybe I was expecting it to be as good as Yakuza 0.

The in-game world also feels a lot like Infamous Second Son’s, especially during the third act. Why? Well, if I tell you now, you’d be spoiled, right? So best play the game on your own. But for those who have finished the game and also played Second Son, wouldn’t you agree that the Sable Soldiers in the third act being hostile to Spider-Man feels a lot like the Militia in Second Son attacking Delsin? I’m not saying it’s bad, it’s just that the whole act is a copycat. Marvel’s Spider-Man should be renamed to Arkham: Second Spider. Joking aside, here’s a serious question to Insomniac Games – sequel when?

Overall, Dragon Quest XI is a mediocre JRPG. It looks fantastic, but the gameplay is “meh” at best. Although it can capture your interest here and there, there isn’t really anything too special about the game. It’s still worth getting if you enjoy grinding, leveling up, and seeing your characters get stronger. So if you want, pick up a copy and see how much fun you can get from the 11th installment in the series.

Overall I loved Shadow of the Tomb Raider. It’s a decent game. Perhaps one that I will not remember any time in the future, but it’s a decent game nonetheless. I just don’t think it’s a worthy ending to the trilogy.

8 / 10.0 - NBA 2K19

What changes or improvements I would probably love to see is a more flexible MyNeighborhood. It needs to start containing something that does not require microtranscations in an already “microtransacked” industry.

8 / 10.0 - Mega Man 11
Oct 11, 2018

All in all, Mega Man 11 is a pretty good game, despite the number of glaring flaws. I urge all of you to try it out for yourselves and grab a copy if you wish to see what the Blue Bomber has new in store.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 is the best RPG for me this year. I know it won’t exactly be much in terms of competition to other titles out there (Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Marvel’s Spider-Man), but in my heart, this is the game to play until I squeeze everything out of it. Thank you SEGA and I hope for more sequels that are equally good or better. Just please, no more “experiments” again. Alright?

8 / 10.0 - FIFA 19
Oct 16, 2018

To note, I played through gradual levels of difficulty, and none of which had an effect on how well you shoot. The difficulty level only determines how good the opposing team plays. Despite these, playing matches and especially playing with your friends at home are still loads of fun. Games like these make amazing party games and are best played during free moments wherein you’re just looking to relax.

8.8 / 10.0 - SoulCalibur VI
Oct 18, 2018

Soulcalibur VI is a good action fighting video game to have in your gaming shelves together with the other big games right now like Tekken 7 and Street Fighter V. This will be great for playing with friends who also love fighting video games.

Overall, it’s very hard to find fault in a game that was well thought-out, culturally accurate with equal representation, a content galore, and beautiful sceneries and detail (zooming in on clothing/armor gives you the idea of how truly fine-tuned the detail is). I can spend a week or two playing Odyssey and would still not have finished or dented the amount of story and quests present. The open world is too large that just uncovering every nook and cranny is going to take some time.

Treyarch has put their time and effort in compensating the lack of a single-player campaign by polishing and developing its content, making sure that they have refined the game’s combat system and find the right balance. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is fun, entertaining, and addicting. While ditching the single-player campaign can be a huge turn-off, once you realize Black Ops 4’s potential and how enjoyable their multiplayer modes are, especially its great battle royale mode Blackout, you will definitely love Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.

What’s depressing is that the game has so much untapped potential. I have no doubt that it would have been something amazing if there was more time to polish or add to what it already has. Sadly, we’re stuck with what we’re given with.
