This may not be the end of A Plague Tale but Requiem is a satisfying conclusion to several characters’ stories, creating a dark fantasy drama with bite and heart.
The big takeaway is that Astro Bot is a series that Sony needs to continue; it really has the power to be, and basically already is, the mascot that Sony could continue to grow around.
After stepping away for a day, after beating Village, it has become one of my favorite Resident Evil titles and I hope whoever reads this picks up a copy and enjoys it.
Playing through The Forgotten City was a delightfully familiar, yet mysterious experience... This game has some moments that left my jaw on the floor.
Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights is one of the more memorable Metroidvania games I have played in a while.
I highly recommend cleansing your gaming palette with Tinykin, which proves that big things can come in small packages.
Personally, I say readers should absolutely pick up One Step From Eden and play with it... A ton of time can be put into this one.
Psikyo Shooting Stars Alpha is a great launch point for shoot-em-up and arcade fans.
After playing for several hours with the team and on my own I have to say that this game will be a lot of fun to keep coming back to whenever I just wanna scratch that itch of platforming casually. For some though, I believe making some crazy Kaizo levels will be a strong past time.
NieR Replicant is a game that will stick with me, probably for the rest of my life.
Cult of the Lamb is exactly what it sells itself as.
Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe is classic Kirby for better and for worse. It’s not a student of innovation in any fashion, but rather a solid adventure spruced up with new bells and whistles.
This may not be my absolute favorite Star Wars video game and I still hope to see something truly unique in this medium using this setting but this is one of the best Star Wars moments I’ve been able to share and that’s what really makes storytelling in settings like this so important.
Despite its simplicity, Atelier Marie Remake’s back-to-basics approach makes it ideal for newcomers, offering a cozy, casual experience after a run of more complex titles.
There’s no better way to wrap this up than to say a big thank you to Cold Symmetry for giving us a great soulslike that that hits the spot.
Regardless of the criticisms I have with Chained Echoes, the fact that it was created is astounding and it is clear that the developer has a ton of love for RPGs and why they are so special. The game is unapologetically dense, making a perfect title for those that put in the extra time it takes to learn its world. This is a full-sized adventure in a classic style, making it an easy-to-recommend game for fans of the genre.
198X is a grounded tale of growing up lost and finding salvation in an unlikely place. Arcade games are the anchor for this character and for many players out there this story rings true.
River City Girls may have been full of walls for me but I can still wholeheartedly recommend it to just about any player, especially those fond of the beat-em-up genre. Just be warned that going without help is a lot tougher than expected.
Sky Racket is a wild, playful, delightful tour of a weird, imaginative galaxy that is certainly worth visiting.
With the interesting theme of robots trying to care for a creature they don't really understand in a hostile world, Void Terrarium has a wider appeal than most dungeon crawlers and I can recommend it to those looking for something just a little different, especially so if this genre seems hard to get into.
