9 / 10.0 - Olija
Feb 2, 2021

I don’t think anyone will regret their admittedly limited time with Olija, it’s a joyride from start to finish. An all around great title with some excellent combat, exploration, and phenomenal music.

So to conclude, FM21 offers a bit of something to players both new and old. Largely a familiar experience to previous entries, fans of the series will find all the fundamentals they already know, with a few bells and whistles thrown on for good measure. The improved matchday engine provides the most significant of the changes noted in FM21, and this goes a long way in creating the sense of immersion and agency the series is known for. New players are given more of a helping hand with features such as recruitment meetings and matchday xG, but Sports Interactive still has someway to go in making the game more accessible for these players. I have noted some minor gripes with the visual and audio design, however I can appreciate that these will remain secondary to the core gameplay loop. Overall, FM21 offers a familiar, rich and enjoyable experience, and one that keeps the series on an upward trajectory towards greatness.

Mono and Six make a perfect team in a horrible world that draws you as the player and them as characters into its darkness so effortlessly oh and make sure you listen carefully throughout the end credits too! There will always be something extra creepy about discovering that the only way into a place is via the same way that someone escaped…!

Put together with the charming art style and music that will be familiar to anyone who has played previous Scribblenauts titles, Showdown is a delightful little game to pass the time with a few friends on a rainy afternoon.

9 / 10.0 - Bloodroots
Feb 22, 2021

Overall, BloodRoots is an outstanding game. It combines fun and fast-paced strategic action with a stellar soundtrack, appealing art style and weapon variation that makes this game stand out within its genre. Despite some technical issues, Bloodroots is an excellent top-down action game, one of the very best.

This game may be short, but the features, hidden characters and supers, Olympics Mode, and adjustable difficulty settings will keep you coming back for more and more. It’s a true, and very timeless, classic gem. It truly lived up to its’ title of Match of the Millennium (heh!)

Screambox Studio has done a superb job creating an accessible arcade shooter that appeals to genre fans both new and old, with adrenaline-pumping ‘bullet heaven’ gameplay and a replay value that makes it hard to put down. While there are some minor issues with the presentation and the main bosses they don’t detract from the relentless fun that can be had and with the knowledge that it can also be played in a local co-op mode, you can only hope that the developer has the chance to make a sequel and include some online features.

9 / 10.0 - Rogue Company
Mar 11, 2021

I genuinely didn’t know what to expect when I loaded into another free-to-play game. I had my concerns it would be clunky, look ugly and would force me to spend real money. Gladly, none of these things happened, and it was one of the best experiences I’ve had with this genre for a long time. I recommend you download a copy here as you have nothing to lose! Rogue Company is a slick, well designed third-person shooter. It’s brilliance puts a lot of its peers to shame! You should grab your rogue and join the fight……. Now!

Overall, Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning is an excellent remaster of an already great open-world RPG. The game takes everything we love about the previous remastered game, making it look fresh with updated graphics and extra content to create an outstanding remaster. If you are a Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning fan or a fan of open-world RPG’s, pick up this game.

Road to Guangdong is a decent game IF you’re just driving around listening to the music. Getting the parts needed to get the car running, and keep it running is where the game falls just short. Decent enough to warrant a buy, for sure.

9 / 10.0 - Green Hell
Mar 15, 2021

If you’re a fan of survival games, no matter if hardcore or casual, then Green Hell will surely provide you with a gaming experience like no other. Despite a few minor complaints, Green Hell is tense, gorgeous, immersive, and even terrifying at times. This game ticks all the right boxes for me, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of survival games. I absolutely loved playing through the story mode and unravelling its mystery, and I can’t wait for the Spirits of Amazonia expansion to be fully released, so that I can dive into that.

9 / 10.0 - Cult of the Lamb
Aug 20, 2022

Cult of the Lamb is an incredible rogue-lite title. What's more, it is jam-packed with content and is addictive as hell. Though there are reports of glitches and bugs, I fortunately never experienced any. Consequently, it excelled in many elements and I loved it.

A Plague Tale: Requiem is an incredible action-adventure title. This much-anticipated sequel arrives on Next Gen consoles, PC, and Switch Digital only. However, gamers on these machines will adore the brutal and sombre journey they'll experience. It retains many much-loved mechanics but evolves miles beyond my wildest expectations. Accordingly, this latest instalment blew my mind, and I can't stop raving about it.

Vampire Survivors is an incredible rogue-lite title that uses old-school imagery. Its simple concept will lull you into a false sense of security, and you won't be able to put it down. Word of warning, once you start, you won't be able to stop.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is a phenomenal FPS that ticks every box. With incredible aesthetics and slick gunplay it is a fantastic experience. Furthermore, the online mode is well balanced and the new levelling system is organic. Fans may gripe and groan about the changes, but I adored the methodical action and problem free gaming.

If you have not purchased the original MK11 or you did but never got round to buying any of the DLC and character packs than for the asking price I would absolutely recommend the Kombat Kollection which has the original game, all the DLC to date as well as the Aftermath expansion and content all together in one package for just a little more than the expansion by itself. This really is the best version to buy and it just makes the standalone price seem over the top but at this point, it is probably fair to say if you have purchased all the DLC than Aftermath is a no brainer for you. For me, revisiting MK11 because of Aftermath reminded me just why I loved this game on release and now thanks to the Kombat Kollection I am inspired to try out all the DLC characters I missed along with all the quality of life updates and refinements made along with this new update. Quite frankly, just having Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa voice Shang Tsung to deliver his iconic “IT HAS BEGUN” makes Aftermath a must have just by itself!

This was a fantastic trip down memory lane and playing some of the iconic skate parks like ‘School’ and listening to the original soundtrack sounding and looking even better on my Xbox One X and TV system of 2020 rather than the CRT TV and PlayStation One from 2001 and yeah, the value of this is certainly not lost on me!

Whilst not on the same level of Streets of Rage 4, I did enjoy this more than the over frustration focused Battle Toads. 9 Monkeys of Shaolin fits very nicely into a genre but it definitely could do with some quality of life improvements to fine tune more than fix some of the niggles I feel it has.

The Ancient Gods Part 1 is more of what made the main game so much fun and a stand out game of 2020 but it does feel held back by its own stubbornness to stick to the frustrating problems which should and could be ironed out. The ending sets up something very special to come in 2021 and it did remind me just how brilliant DOOM Eternal is if you had perhaps put it down since release but as 2020 comes to a close and silly season is about to launch some heavy hitting games and new gen consoles, this DLC is a perfect “remember why you loved me” reminder for fans of DOOM.
