Life is not only strange, but also short, that's why Deck Nine puts Alex Chen in idyllic Haven Springs, where people are as nice as pie. So it's not another "me against the world" type of narrative, but a more collaborative effort. And that's good, which makes "True Colors" the best installment in the series since the first game.

Theme park is open: witness a genocide while riding a zipline! Despite unnerving paradox in the center of "Far Cry 6" (and all "Far Cry" games for that matter), latest in Ubisoft franchise is still fun - as far as Get-Ambushed-By-Wild-Roosters-While-Quoting-"Aliens" fun goes. If you come to terms with the fact that screenwriters didn't write anything substantial and guerrillas are not the heroes of our age, it'll be a blast.

If gaming industry was a family reunion, Rockstar would be unbearable neoliberal patriarch. Hideo Kojima would go as a pretentious cousin with film school diploma and degree in philosophy. „Call of Duty: Vanguard” on the other hand would be a heavy-drinking, wisecracking, jovial uncle who reminisces good ol’ war times, tells dad jokes and eventually makes a flatus ignition show with his zippo. It’s good to talk about virtues of art and have strong pacifistic beliefs. But parties without uncle are just boring.

„Halo: Infinite” is basically „Skyfall”. Neither a sequel nor reboot, it is simultaneously apologetic, nostalgic and forward-looking. But unlike in „Skyfall” being offensive to predecessors actually pays off in a big way and makes for fascinating journey to the roots of the genre. Yeah, with modern touch it’s not the same kind of magic. But I strongly doubt if the same exact kind of magic is something we should be wishing for.

„Horizon: Forbidden West” is such a beauty. Not only because its terrific art design and technical prowess. The way it merges multilayered and deeply humanistic message with its aesthetical paradoxes and narrative flair - that’s what makes the difference. If only Guerilla Games didn’t measure itself by Ubisoft, making the game so damn unfocused.

It's a battle for the souls and of the souls in Tokyo. And it's fun as hell. Although "GhostWire: Tokyo" is hardly treading new waters, Shinji Mikami's imagination alone elevates it to the level unattainable for many game designers. Deeply rooted in Japanese folklore, it perfectly balances action and adventure.

Despite being infatuated with all sanbox tropes and mechanics possible, Ghost of Tsushima is polished and rewarding experience. It does justice to feudal japanese culture and bows to master Kurosawa with style.

Maybe not the best looter shooter but Avengers fans should be pleased.

Should be bigger, more epic and entertaining, but despite these flaws it’s a quite pleasant trip.

"Tell My Why" is not a perfect game, but it is definitely very important because of what it shows and how it shows it. Great story, full of interesting and colorful characters, which it was a pity to part with.

This tale about gods and monsters is a perfect example of telling Greek mythology in a right way. Such a shame that there’s to many frustrating puzzles and not enough side quest to begin with.

The Medium is, for better or worse, old-school at its core. The split screen mechanics aren't revolutionary at all and action sequences may leave you a bit confused, but the wholesome plot and well executed narration make Bloober Team's latest effort a compelling horror story imbued with some cool sociohistorical references.

„Rolledrome” is like „Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater” on steroids. Just put your roller skates on and shoot some enemies! All of that with fantastic OST from Electric Dragon and fancy graphic straight from “XIII”.

We got another production from the 2K stable, in which a good job of the developer was crippled by accountants hungry for every penny.

Where’s my Slave One? Where’s the Battle of Hoth? When it comes to starship battles, “Star Wars: Squadrons” could easily beat up “Battleftont II”. Unfortunately Motive Studios have lost their chance for success.

Biomutant is an ambitious title unnecessarily posing for an AAA one. Its vastness can make other studios envious at first, but it makes the game spread itself too thin.

Disjointed mess of a game „Battlefield 2042” is a latest entry in a franchise known for it’s crucial paradox: massive scale gels with tight, well-paced battle encounters. Except it doesn’t gel this time around. It’s more like Werner Herzog movie: you trek tirelessly through the mountains, forests and rivers and then get shot in the head by some chilled out dude with a sniper rifle. As Herzog would put it: „This universe is monstrously indifferent to the presence of man”.

It's utterly hilarious how difficult "Ninja Gaiden" games are and how Tomonobu Itagaki single handedly proves modern "too easy, too hard" discourse irrelevant. "Master Collection" is a decent remaster, but the question is: how hard will you push yourself to change this hellscape into a funhouse? On the other hand, home is where the heart lies. And my heart is right there, in the world of pain.
