2.5 / 5.0 - Cyberpunk 2077
Feb 9, 2021

Cyberpunk 2077 tries too hard to come across as cool, dark, and gritty, and instead feels like a wannabe edgelord. A shallow environment with average gameplay makes this an unoriginal experience that feels like a flashy reskin of any other game. Add in the insane amount of hype leading up to release and the constant game crashes, and players are left with nothing but disappointment. Not cool, man. Not cool.

2.75 / 5.0 - Match Village
Mar 28, 2024

Match Village is a fun, small casual game built by a solo developer. However, issues like camera control make it challenging for players to enjoy it more. Still, it’s a pleasant experience in short bursts. Match away!

2.8 / 5.0 - Monster Harvest
Oct 11, 2021

Overall, Monster Harvest is a very interesting spin on the very crowded farming simulator genre. The gameplay concept has great potential for an enjoyable experience. Unfortunately, the execution missed its mark in too many places, including but not limited to the main monster component, such as the oversimplified battles, bugs, interface and font issues, and limited content. It appears that the developers are currently working on patches to address issues, but it remains to be seen if the game will see its full potential realized. For now, feel free to skip this harvest.

3 / 5.0 - Air Twister
Jan 2, 2024

Air Twister is a fun adventure to go through once, but fending off an alien invasion more than that feels more like a chore. At least you can ride a giant swan for a short time.

Adventure Academia: The Fractured Continent has a few interesting ideas, but its thin storyline, rollercoaster difficulty, and restricted gameplay mechanics are not enough to keep players entertained for long.

3 / 5.0 - Sakura Santa
Dec 24, 2021

Sakura Santa has its silly moments across its multiple storylines. However, the lack of content and the confusing user interfaces make it a challenge to revisit. If you enjoy harem anime and fan service, you’ll enjoy Sakura Santa, even if it’s a short festival.

Pretty Girls Klondike Solitaire is a simple game given a little extra flavor by way of pretty anime girls. It won’t hold your attention for long, but it’s good to play every so often. Now, go check out those waifus!

3 / 5.0 - Panzer Paladin
Oct 9, 2020

Is Panzer Paladin worth the price of admission? Well, although it does make use of the Mega Man formula, it doesn’t really do much with it and even lacks the elements that made those games memorable. Still, at least it captures the look and sound of games from the 8-bit era. In short, wait until a flash sale and you have time to kill because you could easily beat this game within an hour or so.

Nexomon got its start in 2017 as a cheap and easily accessible phone app. Ultimately, this may have been the better platform for the game, serving customers that don’t have access to Pokémon and gamers on the go. As a console game, Nexomon: Extinction is an adequate Pokémon stand-in, but without all the community excitement and social hype that makes Pokémon so much fun.

3 / 5.0 - Xenon Valkyrie+
Dec 29, 2017

Xenon Valkyrie+’s random generated levels, entertaining soundtrack, and the pixelated design makes the game a good addition to your library, especially if you are using a PlayStation Vita. However the game’s merciless gameplay makes it tough to finish.

Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Overdrive is a fun beat-’em-up with character skill customization. Unfortunately, the game’s short story, repetitive battles, and lack of online co-op make the replay value less than what it could be.

3 / 5.0 - Shu
Feb 22, 2018

The average time to play through the story of Shu is roughly four hours with additional hours if players are yearning for 100% completion. Shu is an attractive platformer game with straightforward goals but tedious chases. Players who are looking to pick up something quick between other games may want to catch a ride with Shu.

3 / 5.0 - Sir Eatsalot
Jun 11, 2018

Overall, Sir Eatsalot is an admirable debut effort: a good-looking, funny adventure that’s unfortunately hampered by some key technical and design issues. Nonetheless, the passion that went into every aspect of the game is clear, and I look forward to seeing what Behind The Stone serves up next.

3 / 5.0 - Happy Birthdays
Jun 20, 2018

Happy Birthdays is a laid-back experience that one can certainly lose hours to simply through micro-managing their vibrant Cube. However, with a barebones narrative and repetitive gameplay, it leaves much to be desired, including the urge to keep coming back over time. Indeed, this may be one celebration that is okay to miss.

Senran Kagura Reflexions is a guilty pleasure of a game that you will not often see released outside of Japan. It is also quite short, and the price point is a bit hard to swallow when you add all the characters together. However, it makes good use of the Joy-Cons and the HD Rumble. Just be mindful when playing in public, so keep calm and rub on.

3.25 / 5.0 - God of Rock
May 10, 2023

God of Rock is an interesting mix of rhythm and fighting styles but it feels quite difficult to handle both styles. Outside of the Arcade Mode and Level Editor, there’s not much left as the online matches feel scarce.

NeoGeo Pocket Color Selection Vol. 2 has a few interesting titles but as a whole, there’s not enough to satisfy that price tag. You’re better off purchasing some of these titles separately and still spend less.

3.3 / 5.0 - Super Bullet Break

Super Bullet Break is a game that has a lot of potential, but its frustrating roguelike gameplay makes it difficult to hang onto and finish. If you have the ambition and are willing to learn the game’s strategic mechanics, give it a whirl and save the gaming world!

Ultimately, Aztech Forgotten Gods is a decent outing with its intriguing heroine and equally intriguing world of massive boss fights. It certainly has the potential to be a great game, but its graphics and gameplay mechanics need more refinement before it can reach that level. For now, these gods risk being forgotten again.
