Tales of Symphonia Remastered is a decent remaster of a classic game, but it lacks innovation and new content. Despite noticeable flaws, it remains an enjoyable experience for those new to the game or looking to relive the original. Its strengths lie in its improved visuals, engaging story, and memorable cast of characters. However, in comparison to recent remasters, it falls slightly short.
Rune Factory 5 is an excellent addition to the series, with plenty of wonderful stuff to enjoy, but its lack of polish limits its potential.
If you are a fan of the series, Romancing SaGa -Minstrel Song- Remastered is a worthy release, but for newbies to the JRPG genre, this might be a challenging first step. It's still a lot of fun if you give it the time it needs to understand the many gameplay mechanics.
The Devil In Me is an intriguing concept on paper, and the developers have attempted to implement several interesting gameplay changes, but the game suffers from abrupt pacing and inadequate character development, which limit its potential.
No More Heroes 3 promises and delivers a good time for fans of the series as well as people who have never played any prior games.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R's main foundation is good, with a fun battle system that doesn't seem difficult, but the mediocre online multiplayer dampens some of its promises.
Pac-Man World Re-Pac won't set the platforming genre on fire, but it checks all the appropriate boxes for fans of the yellow ghost-eating hero.
There haven't been many games that have effectively emulated the success of the classic Resident Evil, but Tormented Souls does exactly that, although with some flaws.
Outriders: Worldslayer is a mixed bag of content that will likely appeal to no one outside of its diehard community.
Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition, while far from a flawless remaster, delivers one of the most adored games to current platforms, but it is at best a monkey paw type of wish fulfillment. Even the game's poor performance cannot disguise this brilliance.
If you want to play more Mobile Suit Gundam, the slow pace of the story makes this a difficult recommendation, but there is a lot of underlying charm in the Noisy Fairy Squad that indicates it could be worth it in the long run.
Riders Republic is unquestionably a one-of-a-kind sports game with an exciting idea that feels like it will carry on for a long time.
Fatal Frame was once a one-of-a-kind option in the realm of survival horror games, but that has long since gone. Maiden of Black Water is a modernized version that prioritizes graphics above quality and suffers as a result. It takes a lot more than a basic clean-up to make it work, but there's no denying it can be entertaining under the proper conditions.
While there isn’t enough new content in NBA 2K22 to justify a full-priced upgrade, its online component is a marked improvement over its predecessor.
The Medium marries old-school horror with modern technology to mixed results but succeeds in delivering a cinematic experience with a compelling narrative.
Too ambitious for its own good, Cyberpunk 2077 attempts to do too much and falters in its execution as a result. Despite its issues, it’s better than the sum of its parts and might be worth checking out for fans of action RPGs.
Fans of horror games looking to play Observer: System Redux for the first time will find an immersive and thrilling experience albeit with some odd jank here and there. Meanwhile, those who’ve already experienced the original may want to wait for a sale.
Ghostrunner’s trial-and-error gameplay caters to the hardcore community but leaves the rest a little frustrated. There’s a fun experience hidden deep within the game, but to get there you have to, well, get good!
Kirby Fighters 2 is a simple fighting game that is designed to be fun without being overwhelming or complex. The grinding nature of its unlockables somewhat holds it back but the game is solid fun in multiplayer with up to four players.
Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time is an exceptional attempt for a licensed Samura Jack game. It does suffer from some repetitive gameplay but for the most part, this is a solid action game.
