Mario vs. Donkey Kong is a good addition to the Nintendo Switch library. Without being a masterpiece or a must-have, it's a good little game at a lower cost while we wait for flagship releases like Princess Peach: Showtime! or Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. What's more, it's not just a simple remake, and Nintendo has done what it takes to bring the series back to life.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League isn't as catastrophic as first expected. The gameplay is fun, there's plenty of humor in keeping with the personalities of the playable characters, and the visuals are just right. However, we can't overlook the repetitive experience, the almost anecdotal evolution tree, the inconsistencies in the storyline and the unacceptable launch of a game and its microtransactions. I recommend the game to those who have the chance to get together with friends and are big fans of the DC Comics franchises. Otherwise, it's best to wait for a discount before checking out.

7.5 / 10.0 - The Universim
Feb 9, 2024

The Universim is proof that it is possible to emerge from a long period of early access. The title offers a successful divine simulation experience with an original art direction. Difficulty is high, but the game remains accessible even for new players. All in all, the experience is a positive one, even if a few aspects, such as in-game speed and a tutorial that's not always easy to follow, still need a little fine-tuning. I'd recommend this title mainly to regulars of the genre.

Once again, Capcom offers a near-perfect compilation of a franchise that deserves a little more attention. Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy offers substantial improvements, even if Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice suffer a little more visually. The added bonuses will please fans, but I mainly recommend the game for those who haven't yet had the chance to discover these sequels to the license. In any case, I hope that the developers will be allowed to design a new opus in the future.

All in all, The Talos Principle 2 is a considerable improvement on the first opus. The puzzles and the tools for completing them are well thought-out, the narrative explores new, more contemporary ideas, and the game looks magnificent. On the other hand, it doesn't surprise as much as its predecessor and, despite excellent vocal performances from the actors, at times we miss the more directed, but highly reactive "religious-superreal-scientific" experience of the simulation of yesteryear.

Arc System Works delivers an entire retelling of the DS/Wii compilation of Another Codes games with enhanced visuals and modernized gameplay. The story is particularly well written and addresses some mature subject. We hope to see more of Ashley in the future.

All in all, The Last Of Us Part II - Remastered is a gem. The game is still a 10/10, but the paint job is not. Agreed, it's close to perfection, but unless you're a die-hard fan of the series, the additions alone don't justify a second adventure. They add spice, but don't change the recipe.

8 / 10.0 - Fae Farm
Jan 15, 2024

Fae Farm is a very good life simulation game. It's well developed and includes a unique story. Played on my Steam Deck, it's fluid and very pretty. I'm a fan of games like Rune Factory, Story of Seasons and Harvest Moon. With Fae Farm, I've found a nice alternative that occupies my evenings for a few hours. It's really great.

Prince of Persia: The Last Crown is a pleasant surprise for the new year. While January is usually synonymous with quiet, gamers have instead got a game of the highest quality to sink their teeth into. We're talking about a game with an excellent lifespan, that's easy to get to, and that restores a much-needed license to a much-needed studio. With more titles to come over the course of the year, we very much hope that Prince of Persia is a harbinger of quality.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Prince of Shadows has a few things going for it, but overall I found it rather average. I'm a long-time fan of the main series, and I don't think this one can hold a candle to Dragon Quest XI. If you're looking for a game in this genre, you'd be better served by a Shin Megami Tensei V or a Persona 5.

In closing, I really enjoyed this new chapter in the series. I think it fills in any gaps left by the approach of the 8th installment. The final section of Like a Dragon Gaiden is particularly satisfying and emotionally charged. In short, another excellent action game from Ryū Ga Gotoku Studio that also comes with a demo of the next title that sets the table nicely. What's more, if you've been waiting for the English dub, it's now available. So, if you're a fan of the series, this really is a must-have, and for the rest of us, what are you waiting for to get started?

8.5 / 10.0 - Ready or Not
Dec 22, 2023

There's no doubt that Ready or Not is one of the most immersive experiences of 2023. The definitive version of this title developed by VOID Interactive offers realistic gameplay, with a wealth of equipment at our disposal. The missions are varied, while the art direction is completely immersive, especially when played in cooperation with friends. While the artificial intelligence of some opponents still needs fine-tuning, this is a complete game that will keep you busy for hours on end. Nevertheless, I'd recommend playing it with colleagues to get the ultimate experience the developers are aiming for.

8 / 10.0 - House Flipper 2
Dec 21, 2023

For me, House Flipper 2 is a fine example of what you'd expect from a sequel to this kind of game. If the first title was a success with the community, it's important to keep track of what was appreciated. This second opus offers a similar experience, but with improved gameplay, visuals and ergonomics. It's true that the content seems a little sparse, and that it would have been interesting to include much more content right from the start. However, the game developed by the Frozen District and Empyrean team should appeal to older players, while being more accessible to new users.

6.5 / 10.0 - Flashback 2
Dec 20, 2023

Flashback 2 is a pleasant surprise for the end of 2023. Admittedly, the game is far from perfect, especially in terms of gameplay. However, if we take a step back and accept that it won't be the game of the year, we can still enjoy it. It's all a question of managing our expectations. The cyberpunk ambience is successful and the story is well-crafted. You'll need 6-10 hours to complete Flashback 2. On that note, a few technical bugs that were preventing me from progressing were fixed on November 19 with a patch. As a result, I was able to finish the game on my own, and it took me around 9 hours to complete.

Even if Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons is technically a new game or a "one-off" from the franchise, I can't say it's a comeback. The dazzling flame of novelty is quickly snuffed out, leaving a lukewarm experience marked by underdeveloped roguelike elements and difficulty balance issues. In short, it's fun, but only for very short periods.

Avatar Frontiers of Pandora is a game that would have deserved much better visibility from Ubisoft. The title is without doubt the most beautiful ever developed by the publisher, and offers a perfect adaptation of the world imagined by James Cameron. Without offering an experience that reinvents the genre, the title remains solid on its feet. However, there's a sense that the game is trying to do too much without going too deeply into its features. Not to mention that the developers have done an extraordinary job in building Pandora, but our immersion is often disrupted by numerous fades to black and small loadouts. All in all, the title remains fun, and players looking for an immersive adventure in the Na'Vi community will be convinced.

9 / 10.0 - Dave the Diver
Dec 12, 2023

Dave the Diver deserves all the attention it has already received. It's a charming and addictive game. An experience which, despite a rather simplistic central conflict, manages to constantly surprise the audience with its ton of mechanics and varied, easy-to-grasp content. We can only recommend that you take a Christmas vacation by the ocean with Dave.

9.5 / 10.0 - Alan Wake 2
Dec 11, 2023

Alan Wake 2 is a great success that proves that patience has paid off for Remedy Entertainment. The game is of the highest artistic, narrative and gameplay quality. If your nerves are strong enough, and you're a fan of horror and survival games, this is one of the best. However, I strongly recommend that you play the first game to understand all the subtleties. In short, for me this is a game that will make my TOP 3 this year, which is no mean feat in a year so rich in high-quality video games.

NARUTO X BORUTO Ultimate Ninja STORM CONNECTIONS was to be the perfect opus for all fans of the franchise, and even for new players wishing to discover this universe. The basic premise is interesting, with spectacular battles, a large character roster and accessible gameplay. Unfortunately, the story mode aims to summarize the franchise too quickly, and leaves out several key battles. What's more, the new Boruto storyline is rather weak overall. Not to mention the visual quality, which doesn't meet today's high standards. I'd mainly recommend this title to players who are already familiar with CyberConnect2's other opuses and who will enjoy online battles.

7.5 / 10.0 - Cities: Skylines 2
Nov 30, 2023

Cities Skylines 2 brings its share of new features, including even more in-depth management of your city. The financial aspect is more difficult and may come as a surprise to some, but after a few attempts you'll get the hang of it. However, the heavy tutorial for older players and the numerous technical problems spoil the experience for many.
