8.5 / 10.0 - New Pokémon Snap
May 3, 2021

New Pokémon Snap is a splendid sequel bringing the series in the right direction and which will fill the hearts of Pokémon fans with joy. For this second chapter, Bandai Namco offers plenty of content and the improved visuals will charm long time fans. Graphically speaking, this is the best looking Pokémon game on the market and it gives us lots of hope for the futur.

Nier Replicant ver. 1.22474487139 is a beautiful take on the original game. The story is compelling and the soundtrack really takes over the game and brings it to another level. Though it might not be as great as Nier : Automata, fans of the genre will enjoy the experience and remember it for a long time.

8 / 10.0 - Judgment
May 8, 2021

This remastered version of Judgment is the definitive edition that all newcomers should go with first. The fluidity of the combats are very smooth and the loading times are basically completely gone. Its just too bad that this upgraded version doesn't really bring anything new to the table to entice returning players.

Resident Evil Village is a melting pot of many ideas taken from previous Resident Evil with a really captivating scenario. Capcom really mastered the atmosphere of the game which adapts itselfs perfectly according to the situation the player is facing while making us umcomfortable as if something was always watching. We can't help but take pity on the poor Ethan who's involved in all of this despite him. I think this is an enormous success that continues what Resident Evil 7 had done to refresh the franchise and we're looking forward to what's ahead.

Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir and Famicom Detective Club: The Girl Who Stands Behind are two great games of their genre. Nintendo invested a lot in these lesser known titles and the result is quite great. There's some great production quality behind these remakes, despite some minor flaws. If it your kind of game, give them a shot !

Altough this remastered version of Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne is a bit weak in terms of new additions, it's still one of the best in the genre. In my opinion, SMT3 is one of the most well balanced JRPGs in terms of mix of gameplay and story elements. It also offers a great challenge which makes it a bit tough for newcomers, but purists will simply love it.

7.5 / 10.0 - Miitopia
May 24, 2021

Miitopia is a great fit in Nintendo's catalogue since it's a great experience for casual gamers. It's a great place to take your first step into the world of RPGs and this time it comes to Nintendo Switch with a lot of interesting improvements.

6 / 10.0 - Biomutant
May 24, 2021

Biomutant is the equivalent of a book with a beautiful cover, but empty pages. The game offers a narration thats great at times, but gets also slowed by the narrator. Unfortunately, I quickly lost interest and its not for a lack of trying many times. I did have a few moments of fun, but I can't recommend this game for now.

Hood: Outlaws & Legends dissapoints for a few reasons including the fact that players are not encouraged to take a stealth approach. Futhermore, the technical problems and the fact that you can't launch a game with a partner controled by the AI really hurts the experience. Let's hope that the additional content will be a bit more diversified.

Solasta is a fantastic D&D experience and I recommend all fans of the 5th edition to give it a shot. Though it may not impress visually, the gameplay will captivate fans especially since the developers enhanced it in a very imaginative way. If you're looking for a bit more D&D in your life, this is the way.

Subnautica: Below Zero proposes an experience very similar to the first game. It doesn't bring a lot of new elements which will probably dissapoint a few players. However, the fun factor is still very present.

Mass Effect : Legendary Edition is without a doubt the best way for a new generation of players to discover the series while EA prepares the next chapter. It's also a great way to please long time fans in a very short term. However, a couple of defaults came back and a few new ones appeared along the way.

Relive some of the most iconic and important moments of the history of video games with this new Capcom compilation. Unless you really don't like retro games, you should have a lot of fun with this title. It's the most fun I've had diving bad into old games since Rare Replay

SaGa Frontier Remastered brings us back to the essence of RPGs. Unfortunately, the game's lack of clear directions for quests will likely scare newcomers. However, if you have time and patience and you are already fan of the genre, this is definitely for you.

Kaze and the Wild Masks first seems like just another platformer. But then as you keep playing, you find so much joy and a lot of ressemblances with the best in the genre. We wouldn't go as far as saying it's a simple copy, but rather a nice nod to what made these games so great. And once you are finished, you will remember it as a positive souvenir with a big smile on your face. Isn't that what you should expect from a video game ? Mission accomplished for PixelHive !

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart mixes heart and humour in a very action driven adventure beautifully modernized for the new generation. The gameplay will completely engage you with a collection of very diversified weapons and well executed plateforming elements. If you were waiting for a system seller, this is the one. It uses the DualSense fully with haptic feedback and the adaptative triggers as well as the 3D Audio which put together truly give the feeling of a next-gen experience. It will definitely be amongs your favorite games of the year.

Song of Horror is a good game for those who like to complete puzzles in a scary atmosphere. The story is remarkably interesting and the possibility of losing permanently some of our characters is rather troubling. Furthermore, the fact that you have random encounters with « The Presence » makes each run fun. The controls and the camera will not please everyone, but it might bring some good souvenirs to others.

Wonder Boy : Asha in the Monster World was an excellent game back in 1994. Unfortunately, today's remake isn't spicy enough. The game is a classic, but it fails to stand out in today's world especially considering the heavy competition on the market. It's mainly good for the nostalgia if your heart really wants to give it a go.

Mario Golf: Super Rush introduces fun new ways to play golf including Speed Golf and Battle Mode. Camelot really has reached his peak in terms of technique and quality of gameplay. It's particularly fun to play with the Joy-Con motions which has been improved over Wii Sports. It's just too bad the solo adventure doesn't pack much of a punch and that there's no tournament mode this time. I hope Camelot will spend a bit more time putting the finishing touches the next time around.
