INVEN's Reviews

"Needy Girl Overdose(Needy Streamer Overdose)" consist of stories from the developer Nyalra's otaku life. It is too immoderate because it is full of ambiguous morals and game designs intended to collapse streamers. But if players has sense of Japanese otaku cultures, they can find real value of the game filled with 80's to 90's sense and satire on internet cultures such as streamers and so on.

6.2 / 10.0 - Praey for the Gods
Dec 24, 2021

Praey for the Gods looks similar to a typical AAA-class game for an indie game, but it has a disappointing completeness, and overall, it feels like it has not been able to follow a famous masterpiece.

6.3 / 10.0 - Scorn
Oct 20, 2022

Although there is a room for arguments, Scorn's art design seems properly portrayed the original intention of the game. It is also fun to digest the ending as the way you think. However, intuition-dependent puzzles and insufficient combats can make players easily quit the game before ending. The combination of checkpoints and dysfunctional combat is the scariest part of it.

6.5 / 10.0 - Sludge Life 2
Jun 28, 2023

It is an attractive game with a unique narrative that unfolds in the smudgy, Lo-Fi Style and sloppy but tight gameplay. However, options that are not accessible enough compared to the previous game and dizzy structure that some clues are meaningless make the game feels more empty than ever.

6.5 / 10.0 - Redfall
May 8, 2023

A title that feels incomplete in every perspective. At least the Vampire hunting was a good experience, but only the boredom and stupid AI are the ones that fill the hollow open-world. On top of that, a lot of bugs and insufficient optimizations are making the experience even worse.

Feb 23, 2023

It is still an enjoyable experience where you can build your own frontier with a relatively easy system. However, the entire process to win the game is too long and boring to aim for a shift to a competitive RTS. It is not easy to motivate the frontier exploring since pretty much all activities are for just military buildup.

6.5 / 10.0 - Deliver Us Mars
Feb 10, 2023

A sequel that unravels the series' story with increased characters on the new planet. Except for the poor character modeling, which has a plenty of room for improvement, the game will deliver a memorable experience for those who would like to go on a story driven journey to Mars on their weekend.

6.5 / 10.0 - Aka
Dec 22, 2022

The game depicts the veteran soldier's mental rehabilitation process with well decorated watercolor arts and cute characters. Even without too many mandatory quest lines, it fluently delivers the entire story of the main character and others. However, disastrously uncomfortable UI/UX and instability of the game ruins the aftertaste.

6.5 / 10.0 - The Last Oricru
Oct 27, 2022

The Last Oricru tried to balance its design between in-depth narratives of CRPG and Souls-like heavy action. On top of that, a world that is a mixture of myth, science and magic is also compelling. However, it becomes frustrating when you realize the shortcomings of Souls-like (no maps, no explanation) and the element of CRPG that every action affect the ending does not make a good synergy.

6.5 / 10.0 - Valkyrie Elysium
Oct 6, 2022

A Valkyrie series transformed from a turn-based game into an action. While this changed system itself is not bad, terrible camera work is ruining the overall experience. More to that, repetitive gameplay structure and mediocre story are also disappointing. Don't have much choice but to look forward to a better Valkyrie title in the future.

6.5 / 10.0 - Time on Frog Island
Jul 19, 2022

In the positive side, Time on Frog Island is a very easy and relaxing game. However, it also can be mean that it has shallow game play. The game surely has a wonderful, deep background scenery, but it feels like they didn't make a good use of all of it.

The House of the Dead remake is characterized by a faithful embodiment of the elements of the original. However, it does not reproduce the sophisticated manipulation and immersion, which are characteristics of the gun shooting genre, so it stays in the remake as a rip-off of the original, not a remake beyond the original.

6.5 / 10.0 - Maglam Lord
Feb 25, 2022

Maglam Lord has styles of quite old fashioned JRPG, especially its graphic looks like it was developed at 90's, the Playstation One era. But the developers, who also have made 'Summon Night' series, successfully create another simple, great immersive story.

Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance, which tells the story of The Icewind Dale Trilogy, is a looter slasher that requires Co-op. But, as for the fans of D&D, lacklustre combat and uninspired action will likely not satisfy.

6.5 / 10.0 - Essays on Empathy
May 25, 2021

Essays on Empathy is an impressive work which shows a deep story about life through short and creative gameplay. However, it was not satisfying enough because its convenience on UI is not good, and some stories are monotonous.

6.5 / 10.0 - Hundred Days
May 17, 2021

Puzzle, simulation, wine making; at the beginning of Hundred Days, those seemed to be harmoniously combined in the game. But sudden ending, unclear goals, meaningless repetition and serious errors in Korean translations spoiled its finish.

6.5 / 10.0 - Say No! More
Apr 16, 2021

"Say No! More" is a work that shows how courageous it is to be able to say "no" with conviction, facing the absurdities of society today, when people are becoming more cautious about expressing their negative intentions. The value it's trying to deliver is clear, but the gameplay is a bit repetitive. Rather than thinking of playing a game, it's better to treat it with the feeling of watching a comedy movie that you can laugh without worrying.

It could have ended up with a boring, old-fashioned 3D platformer. However, the features for SpongeBob fans somehow turned the game's outdated style to feel like an old-school. If you can indulge in the series' humor and SpongeBob's new look, you will find some classical fun with this game.

6.8 / 10.0 - Wicce
Jun 3, 2021

'Wicce' successfully built up his own personality and actions following the basic formula of the platformer action game. Its PC version shows those enough, but in the Nintendo Switch version, It doesn't seem to have been able to embody 100% of fascinating points and gameplay which it pursued.

6.9 / 10.0 - High on Life
Dec 28, 2022

In 'High on Life', 90% hilarious joke in the entire game is barely but surprisingly well held up by the 10% gameplay. It may be a good choice for the weekend if you are a fan of Justin Roiland. But the lack of localization in certain languages has somewhat demerits the charm of Xbox Game Pass in terms of accessibility.
