Henchman Story is a fun, endearing and extremely witty visual novel that not only pokes fun at superhero flicks and comics but celebrates them too.
Get In The Car, Loser is a delightful game packed with witty humour, gorgeous art and explosive fights. It provides excellent queer representation and packs a punch with characters that we can all relate to in one way or another.
Into The Pit is an exhilarating first-person shooter with lofty ambitions. It is a fast-paced rogue-lite that excels in the bloody gunplay we've come to expect from classic titles such as Doom. However, its promised flashy spells and novel mechanic of combining dungeons fail to live up to the expectations they set.
With continued support from both the community and the developer, Escape Simulator will quickly become the ultimate escape room experience.
Inscryption is an outstanding horror game that will keep you glued to your seat for your entire playthrough. The combination of horror and deck-building is perfectly utilised, making Inscryption the ideal game to play this spooky season.
My Beautiful Paper Smile has a truly unique art style that I can’t enough of, but that’s where the love ends. With more playtime, the story could have been amazing, but unfortunately, the lack of exposition makes it hard to be absorbed into the intricate and dark world of the Joyous.
Moonglow Bay is another entry into the ever-growing life sim genre and feels as relaxing and stale as many of the other entries before it.
Chasing Static is an engaging walking simulator with an engrossing story. However, it isn't much of a horror game.
Sunshine Manor is an 8-bit action-adventure with horror elements and head-banging tunes. While there are some bugs and quality of life issues, 80s horror fanatics will probably still find this game pretty cool.
Knockout Home Fitness provides a decent fitness experience while also staying fun. You can break a sweat while playing, but it doesn’t feel like a long term fitness solution.
Far Cry 6 doesn’t necessarily reinvent the open-world action-adventure franchise, nor does it take Far Cry a place it hasn’t been before.
To The Rescue! is a rewarding and fulfilling dog shelter simulation that perfectly encapsulates the challenges, stresses and difficulties of running a dog shelter while offering an addictive and meaningful gameplay loop that never gets old.
While the narrative might be a little predictable, for its low price, great acting, and endless replayability, Bloodshore is a must-play for those interested in FMV.
Back 4 Blood is a great zombie title that can fill the void of Left 4 Dead. It offers a steady narrative with fleshed-out characters and an incredibly unique card system that changes how to play each level. While the matchmaking and PvP mode feel a bit lacklustre, Back 4 Blood still provides a fabulous zombie-killing experience.
Airborne Kingdom’s unique nomadic city-builder premise is held up by brilliant multi-layered strategic decisions that not only make it intriguing to strategy veterans but very approachable to newcomers through its organic tutorials.
Koei Tecmo put in the effort to modernise Fatal Frame, and it shows. Not only have they ditched fixed camera angles, but combat has also been revamped to make ghost-hunting more fluid. While I miss the less-linear exploration, I know some players would greatly appreciate the guided episodic format.
Sherlock Homes Chapter One takes full advantage of the next-gen consoles with stunning graphics on the PlayStation 5 while also providing plenty of cases to solve and a comprehensive narrative. Unfortunately, the game doesn't hold your hand, and with an empty open world, you might feel a little stuck.
Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX stays faithful to the originals by mostly adding quality of life fixes to enhance the game. While not everything was modernised, there is enough here for players to have a great time.
Vagante is a brutal roguelike game with a beautiful pixel art style and a procedurally-generated world. However, some might find it more frustrating than it is fun.
OlliOlli World's accessible mechanics, gorgeous visuals and easy to complete levels make it the perfect entry-level game for those who wish to live out the skateboarding fantasy.
