As close to flawless as any puzzle game can be, the Talos Principle 2 offers some of the deepest philosophy, most poignant moments, best written characters, and -- of course -- the smartest puzzles in gaming, all beautifully interwoven with each other to produce a masterful experience for contemplative gamers.

The Callisto Protocol might be treading familiar ground, but it does so with such mastery that it turns it to sacred ground. It perfects the goals that Dead Space first set out to achieve, reaching the peak of the survival horror genre when it comes to gameplay, art direction, storytelling, and — of course — horror.
Tchia is the perfect cozy game. It is deeply inspired by the culture of New Caledonia, and in showing that it creates one of the warmest, most engaging experiences in gaming. From its calm exploration to its charming story to its dozens of wonderful little moments, Tchia is one of the best games of 2023 so far. You owe it to yourself to play it.
Sometimes greatness comes not from something new or groundbreaking, but from a fantastic iteration on what's come before. Besides Death Door's story and characters, it doesn't bring much that's new to the table... but it does everything so well that it's earned a permanent place on my shelf of games I bug everyone about until they play.
Inscryption boasts solid deck-builder-style gameplay supported by excellent writing, sound design, and overall atmosphere. While some puzzles were too easy, and the puzzle-like nature of the deckbuilding itself hurts replayability, it's still easy to recommend Inscryption to anyone who finds its aesthetics and tone appealing.

With a clear idea of what it is and what it wants to do, EVERSPACE 2 is an action RPG in space that ticks all the boxes. Offering a satisfying loot system and engaging combat, ROCKFISH have delivered a space shooter that's as nice to look at as it is to play.

Rogue Trader is a near-perfect encapsulation of 40k. Its dark-but-pulpy story puts you in the position to make tough choices with no right answers, its combat is a healthy mix of TTRPG and game balance, and the amount of content on display is jaw-dropping. The Emperor has blessed Owlcat Games.
There's already a lot to like, and if future updates are well handled, Going Medieval could easily become one of the best Colony Simulators out there. The survival aspects are both realistic and fun, as are the construction and resource management portions of the game.
