Deathloop is simply a masterpiece. The story, characters, visuals, multiplayer, etc. are unbelievably enjoyable, and Deathloop is a gateway to the future of gaming, and this should make you very excited as to what’s in store.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is simply the perfect game. It has everything a gamer could need in a single-player game.
Elden Ring is a game that has denounced the ‘normal’ way of doing things. The players hand is not held and is guided by one thing and one thing only… Mystery. While the game has a few quality of life issues with some minor performance complaints, the game is still stellar. It is a game that everyone should play.
God of War Ragnarök is essentially a masterpiece, and it’s no wonder this has taken the gaming world by storm. You will be left scratching your head as to how they’ve managed to take a great predecessor, drastically improve it and forming into a flawless sequel. Having to wait a long four years was dragging, but with the game’s outstanding execution and delivery, patience was indeed a virtue.
Figment 2: Creed Valley is not just a game; it’s an experience. From the captivating story to the music that touched our hearts. It was an absolute joy to play and experience, and many others should as well. It touches on real-life subjects but also guides us through them. Sometimes a change of perspective is all we need to see the world from a different view. Figment 2: Creed Valley is currently only available on Steam, and we can’t recommend this game enough.
It is an echo of the past, as a lot could be said for the original game that inspired it all, but with today’s gaming market being full of rereleases and remakes, this particular game stands out amongst the crowd. Resident Evil 4 Remake displays just how fantastic the original 2005 game was, while also building upon what the previous version had left in its path and still being its own thing.
Showgunners is showing massive potential to shake things up in the turn-based strategy genre while maintaining a great story to keep you coming back. You’ll be made to think on your toes and sometimes outside the box, though this is also what makes it such a great game. The voice acting, visuals and general challenges in Showgunners pull it all together for a game that can appeal to everybody, making it well worth the time.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a tour de force of game design that managed to outdo its already impeccable predecessor by a large margin. This is the premiere Zelda experience, and I can’t wait to see how Nintendo manages to top this one because those are mighty large boots to fill. Masterpiece.
Whether you’re a longtime fan or a casual like myself, you’ll fully appreciate Final Fantasy XVI relishing as one of the best role-playing games ever. A masterpiece story, incredibly in-depth combat and magic, awestruck battles, lovable characters, eye gawking environment and much more formulated the ultimate unique experience. This is no exaggeration, but I couldn’t identify a single negative even if I tried. No question, this is a game of the year 2023 contender.
Baldur’s Gate 3 was well worth the wait. The game truly captures the beauty and insanity of DnD and mixes it perfectly with the gameplay we have come to expect from the series. If you’ve played the first two games, then playing Baldur’s Gate 3 will feel like you’re seeing an old friend, one that has grown greater and better… and slightly more sexually inclined. Baldur’s Gate 3 is very much worth your time.
Starfield is an interstellar masterpiece, has all the facilities to restore faith in the Xbox gaming community, and has well and truly risen Xbox from the dead. When it comes to the story, you won’t get the good stuff until later in the game, but the enthralling story, equally engaging side quests, overwhelmingly praiseworthy and immersive features, and much more will give you an outstanding RPG experience. The visuals might not be too great, but with far too many great things Starfield has to offer, it’s not to be all and end all.
Ugly is an incredible game with its simplicity in mechanics and the indirect way Team Ugly shows you the story. While most puzzle games and platformers will usually focus on combat and tools needed to finish a level, Ugly focuses on keeping it simple as well as creating an experience that is not only polished but highly enjoyable. It is the perfect game for anyone searching for dark yet mysterious stories and puzzles.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder will certainly be remembered for reinvigorating the genre with the innovative Wonder Flower mechanic, fun online and local multiplayer modes, and its gorgeous presentation. Gather your family and friends for an unforgettable adventure in the Flower Kingdom!
Alan Wake 2 will completely astonish you with its phenomenally written and mind-altering story, creativity, level designs, transitions, art direction, photorealistic visuals, eerie atmosphere, haunting audio, brain-challenging puzzles, exciting but nervy combat, and much more. Alan Wake 2 is simply a must-buy; you’d be crazy not to get it, and you’ll be missing out on something special if you don’t. It was worth the thirteen-year wait, but hopefully, the next sequel won’t take nearly as long to arrive.
Risk of Rain Returns is an example of not only how to perfect a remake but also how to perfect a roguelike. All of the changes made to the game felt fitting and, on top of that, improved upon so many elements of the game that it just made it an insanely high-quality product. In terms of roguelike games, Risk of Rain Returns will sit up there as one of the best alongside games like The Binding of Isaac, Hades, and even Risk of Rain 2.
The new rogue-like gameplay of God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla took a little time to get used to. But after getting used to it, it’s no question that it incredibly adds much more to the DLC, let alone the combat, and overall, an enthralling replayable experience in Valhalla, and would welcome this new type of gameplay in future God of War projects. To top it all off, again, it must be said the DLC is totally free. This is a DLC you’d be happy to pay for, but you don’t need to. Imagine something this great doesn’t require you to reach for your credit card.
The sheer volume of outstanding content in TEKKEN 8 makes it the go-to fighting game for players of other series, and fans of this genre are flocking to this new release from all over the fighting game genre. TEKKEN 8 is the best in the franchise’s history and perfectly fits players of any level and experience. TEKKEN 8 is undoubtedly an excellent bet to win the Fighting Game of the Year.
Pacific Drive is a must-play for narrative fans or those who want a more rewarding survival experience that doesn’t rely on the genre’s usual tropes. Heck, even if that’s not a big enough selling point, the game has an excellent soundtrack.
The Thaumaturge is a masterpiece of a game. The game has a rich story filled with suspense, mystery, and a cast of unforgettable characters. The game uses its historical setting in such a way that is both based on reality and also in a way that melds the supernatural elements perfectly together.
Flawless is the perfect term to describe Dragon’s Dogma 2, and it portrays a beyond-sheer level of magnificence, making it one of Capcom’s greatest projects ever. This isn’t even close to being an exaggeration, but not only is this a Game of the Year contender, but it might be an all-time great. Not once did I feel the need to turn off the game and would often feel miffed whenever I had to.
