La Orden del Pixel's Reviews

Crimson Tactics: The Rise of The White Banner is a tactical RPG inspired by classics of the genre that, although it is technically polished, its irregularities in the gameplay do not allow it to shine. Those who are looking for a high-quality exponent of the genre will have to wait for those future patches that the title is crying out for.

Hellboy: Web of Wyrd, the new work of Upstream Arcade, is a roguelike that pays homage to Mike Mignola's iconic character, but stumbling a few times along the way. Recommended for Hellboy fans who want to take control of the charismatic demon and indulge in slapping and smashing heads with a wonderful art style that perfectly captures the aesthetics of the comic.

Dambuster Studios seeks to monopolize our time with Dead Island 2 - Haus, the first DLC of the horror FPS that struggles to get on everyone's lips, but without the ambition to achieve it. It's not bad content, but it feels like a lot of wasted potential that, leaves us with a taste of little. Perhaps it would be better to wait a bit before returning to Hell-A.

Vengeance of Mr. Peppermint is a beat 'em up inspired by movies like Oldboy or The Chaser that, while boasting style and plenty of violence, falls short in several key aspects. It's not the worst game of the year, although it can't be denied that it's perhaps one of the most disappointing. Its trailer gave a glimpse of something that later in practice does not end up being fulfilled. Hack The Publisher could have given life to a perfect homage to Korean thrillers.

Caution - Graven
Feb 23, 2024

Graven is a retro aesthetic FPS with great aspirations through which it intends to pay tribute to the mythical Hexen, Heretic or Blood, but it fails when it comes down to it. You can see the love and effort that Slipgate Ironworks put into developing a title inspired by classics from the '90s. However, there are several elements that work against it, making it difficult to recommend.

Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle, the battle royale previously exclusive to Stadia, debuts on all platforms with an ideal proposal to play a few games when time is short. Fans of Bandai Namco's official mascot will surely be more than happy to see him back. The rest of the audience, however, will probably quickly run out of reasons to keep playing after a handful of hours.

Not Yet - Phantom Fury
Apr 29, 2024

Bombshell Harrison is back in Phantom Fury, a new, more ambitious, bigger and more destructive installment loaded with details that show a lot of effort, but a loose consistency and rough edges that evidence a rushed development. As a result, Bombshell's new adventure leaves mixed feelings. Still, it is playable, although perhaps it would be good to wait for a discount to give it a chance.

With Morbid: The Lords Of Ire, Still Running invites us to discover a reimagining of his previous work, with a soulslike that leaves aside the pixel art graphics to give way to 3D environments. However, the technical section does not quite accompany the transition, causing the immersion to be notably diluted. As a result, Still Running's new work complies, but is a step below its predecessor.

Despite its revamped graphics and soundtrack, Front Mission 2 Remake is an utterly forgettable and frustrating reimagining, thanks to a large and varied cast of problems. I just hope Square Enix treats their sagas better, because they went for the cheap option and it backfired. If they are not going to invest as they should to improve or fix past games, at least try not to break them anymore.
