Assassin's Creed: Mirage serves as a heartfelt tribute to devoted fans of the franchise, evoking the nostalgia of the earlier, arguably superior days of Assassin's Creed.

Assassin's Creed Mirage is a solid entry that builds on previous titles while also honoring the roots of the series. It was a smart decision on Ubisoft's part to release Mirage as a stand-alone title rather than as DLC for Valhalla, as it doesn't require any prior knowledge of the franchise storyline, making it an easy entry point into the series. New players who enjoy their time with Mirage can pick up Assassin's Creed Valhalla to see where Basim ends up.

The threadbare narrative is punctuated by a disconnected mission structure that stalls for time. Full-frontal combat is realistically clunky to inspire sneaky tactics, though it might not impress fans of the RPG-style, combat driven AC titles. This back-to-basics approach truly captures the soul of an Assassin's Creed game and I really hope Ubisoft doesn't give up on this route. Despite its flaws, running around the rooftops in Mirage with my hidden blade out for blood remains just as fun as it was before, proving that the original AC formula works. Ubisoft need only breathe new life into it.

The new Assassin's Creed game is nothing more than a mirage of a greatness long gone. The series is in need of a constant change, and this game feels more like an aimless stumble.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is probably the most appropriately named game in the series because you thought you were getting a full story, but really all you’re getting is another standalone Assassin’s Creed Valhalla DLC pack with a $50 price tag.

This attempt to “meet in the middle” between styles, while it should appeal to a wider range of fans, doesn’t really excel in the realms of stealth or ARPG. The result is a fairly average action-adventure with glimpses of greatness, but which lacks cohesion and doesn’t quite rise to its potential.

But, as is always the case with Assassin’s Creed, the setting really makes it stand out. A built-in codex features a treasure trove of historical research, all of which has fed into this version’s immaculate creation and, while its various systemic changes will annoy some, there’s no denying that its representation of historical Baghdad is a joy to explore.

Assassins Creed has taken many forms to date, but this has been my favourite, a return to its roots while taking many of its adaptions and changing the title for the better.

The franchise's next installment arrives at a crucial point where it needs to pave a new path after the myth-based trilogy. While it successfully combines various systems from its predecessors, somehow the game seems remained at an ordinary level as its lack of new, interesting experiences.

Assassin's Creed Mirage takes a step back to focus on the franchise's stealth roots, and it does offer an enjoyable experience despite its hiccups. While the stealth gameplay could use some refinement and the graphical fidelity falls short of expectations, the pared-down character management and emphasis on strategy add a layer of depth often missing from bigger, broader RPGs. It's clear that Mirage could have benefited from a bit more polish and attention to detail. If you're a fan of the series or enjoy stealth-focused games, Assassin's Creed Mirage might be worth your while, but go in knowing it's not flawless.

Assassin's Creed Mirage takes the franchise back to its roots and becomes itself again. Although not without flaws, it is certainly an improvement over what we got with Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla.

It may be too much of a step back for fans of the RPG-focused recent games. However, Assassin's Creed Mirage delivers an experience that successfully takes the series back to its stealth roots, finding its heart and soul again, which makes it a must-play for any traditional Assassin's Creed fans.

Valhalla is simply a thing of the past. Assassin’s Creed Mirage has brought the fine art of stealth back to the franchise in a great fashion. And with many exciting ways, including the brand-new focus mechanic, you have more than enough tools to accurately portray the ultimate assassin. Although the story isn’t perfect, besides that, the developer has done splendidly to take the franchise back to the top by moving to the more traditional side, and that’ll surely give the fans hope for projects in the future.

More confined and familiar to players from earlier eras of the series, Assassin's Creed Mirage doesn't always hit the level of polish and satisfaction promised. But once in autopilot, the resolution of its missions turns out to be enjoyable.

Assassin's Creed: Mirage is an adventure and parkour game in which we will take control of Basim, a master assassin from the 9th century in Baghdad. It is a fairly short title that provokes mixed opinions because on the one hand it is seen as a very well done return to the past, while on the other it is perceived as insufficient due to everything cut out, even so it can take you about 12-15 hours to finish it and 8 p.m. if you dedicate yourself to exploring everything. Graphically it is spectacular, although it has deficiencies in terms of gameplay movement and outside scenes, while the soundtrack is shown as a notable element.

Mirage delivers what I've wanted from Assassin's Creed better than it has in over a decade. In a fantastically recreated 9th century Baghdad, finally I feel like an assassin again.

For the most part, Mirage is indeed a return to those days, though it doesn’t entirely abandon some of the modern Assassin’s Creed DNA. Though not perfect and certainly not mind-blowing, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a solid entry in the series that might show Ubisoft that games don’t have to cost the world to develop or contain hundreds of hours of content.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a condensed version of the modern Assassin’s formula. That may disappoint some who hoped for something that felt new while also significantly harkening back to the series’ past. Stealth does get a boost, alongside occasional engaging narrative and characters, but there’s plenty of padding that dampens the fun.

Assassin's Creed Mirage shows such a glaring lack of ambition that it's almost hurtful. It doesn't excel in anything beyond its setting, leaving us with a lackluster adventure that feels like a chore to play. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone other than a die-hard fan of the franchise.
