Red Dead Redemption Reviews
Red Dead Redemption on Switch is a straightforward port of 2010's masterpiece with no added bells or whistles for a rather high price tag. If you can get over that, this is a game we highly recommend digging into, especially if you've yet to experience it. Rockstar's Western epic holds up surprisingly well, its story is as powerful as ever, its knockabout action still feels great, and it looks and plays perfectly well on Nintendo's console. Multiplayer has been cut, which is a sore but understandable excision, and we'd really have liked to see effort put into adding gyro controls or touching up the graphics a little, but it is what it is. This is a proper all-timer ported successfully to Switch and, if you can stump up the cash, you'll have a great time here regardless of the lack of TLC.
Red Dead Redemption is an exceptional game, and its PC port more than delivers, offering a well-optimized experience even for less powerful devices. Even so, it is missing some substantial additions or improvements after so many years of waiting.

Red Dead Redemption is really enjoyable on PS4 and Nintendo Switch. After thirteen years, the Rockstar classic holds up like no other, and these adjustments are more than enough for a very satisfying experience. Many of us would have liked something more, but for both nostalgic and new fans of the saga, this port is a fantastic opportunity to get into the boots of John Marston.

It is indisputable that Red Dead Redemption is a masterpiece, a superb western and one of Rockstar's best games. If you haven't played it, you're going to enjoy it in a big way. But at the same time, other factors, such as price or the absence of major improvements, slightly cast a shadow over what should have been a great debut.

It is a pity that more effort has not been put into the conversion, because the original RDR is still a masterpiece. Even with the flaws, it is worth revisiting.

Finally, after fourteen years, Red Dead Redemption also arrives on PC. The title has aged very well, unfortunately this conversion brings with it countless technical problems.

The silver lining here is that now the game is finally freed from the cage of old hardware. And that's a great thing.

The bottom line here is that Red Dead Redemption deserves so much more.
Red Dead Redemption is an exceptional game that manages to capture the spirit of the Wild West. The incredible sound design and enthralling narrative are highlights of the adventure. Although it runs perfectly well on the Switch, the lack of an online mode and no additional content is disappointing. The high price point is contentious, however, this is an exquisite open-world adventure that shows Rockstar at its finest.
Rockstar's port of Red Dead Redemption on the Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch provides an opportunity for both newcomers and fans alike to experience one of gaming's most memorable adventures once again. While there are some improvements to the visuals and performance, remnants of the game's age still bleed through. If you can look past the outrageous price tag and some cut content, then your journey back to the Wild West is definitely one worth taking.
'Red Dead Redemption' is a game that will stand the test of time no matter what...The West will always hold a special place in my heart and life.
It's nothing special to groundbreaking to write home on. There isn't any new story additions, but I do think it's a great game to pick up if you want to roam what is left of the untamed west while you still can.
While it remains an incredible game, this re-release of Red Dead Redemption is not worth paying $50 for today. Wait for a price drop.
It's disappointing that Rockstar has not accorded Red Dead Redemption the respect it deserves, but for now, at least the game is playable on all modern consoles. The Switch version is particularly recommended if you have never played the game before, or want to revisit it in the portable format.
If you've never played it before, then Red Dead Redemption's re-released state is the best on PC. Just make sure you're not paying full price for it.
The Switch port of Red Dead Redemption is a faithful way to get into the world of Red Dead. It looks good as long as you adjust expectations and consider the game's age, and performs consistently well in both handheld and docked modes. While many aspects will feel dated, I still had a fun time exploring the old west with John during the last gasps of the American frontier.
Step into the well worn boots of John Marsten and experience the Wild West in all its Glory!
Overall, after all these years, Red Dead Redemption is still a great game that offers players a compelling narrative, a fantastic open world, and an overall highly engaging gameplay experience. However, the PS4 port isn't something that can easily be recommended to those who've already played the game and its DLC or even own the original bundle, at least at its current asking price. As such, if you've never played the game and are still interested in the port, I'd advise waiting for a sale or buying the Switch port, as that at least offers the value of playing the game on the go.
