Puyo Puyo Tetris Reviews
Sonic Team tried to bring together two franchises as classic as peanut butter and/or chocolate, separately. But in combination, they mix about as well as oil and water.
In conclusion, Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 proves to be a good "investment" for the fans of the genre, with a plethora of content and options for online gaming.

Puyo Puyo Tetris is a solid fusion of two distinct and entertaining puzzle games, resulting in a high quality, long-lasting and very challenging game.
If you're into puzzle games, Puyo Puyo Tetris is a nice new (well, newish) take on a familiar formula, though those that just want vanilla Tetris won't be left wanting either.
So, do you really want to splash out on an old-fashioned arcade puzzle game? Surprisingly, the answer might be yes. It's not much to look at but it's brilliant fun to play, particularly as a handheld solo game and TV-based party game on the Nintendo Switch. It has great single-player and multiplayer modes not to mention slick ranked and unranked online play, while the Adventure mode does a great job of keeping you entertained while stretching your skills. In fact, there's just one problem. At £20 on PS4 it's brilliant value, but at a stonking £35 on the Switch? I'd argue that it's still worth the money, but if it was selling for around the £20 mark there's be another half star on the score.
Master and heir united in a surprising symbiosis, especially in multiplayer.

Honestly, the best way to experience Puyo Puyo Tetris is to gather some friends and play a local multiplayer session. There's a plethora of modes available and it's a blast to have people play each and every one of them. Despite single player and Online ranked matches being utterly relentless, Puyo Puyo Tetris is still a fun party game with a wholehearted recommendation nonetheless.
While not the best game in either series, Puyo Puyo Tetris is still a great combination of two puzzle classics. Sometimes going together like peanut butter and jelly, other times more like peanut butter, and uh, something that doesn't go with peanut butter. All in all, a worthwhile addition to the slowly growing Switch library (or PS4 library, if spontaneous on-the-go multiplayer is not your jam).
The classic Tetris and Puyo Puyo action is enjoyable, but the new modes are letdowns
What can I say? I really LOVED Puyo Puyo Tetris and given the limited amount of titles on the Nintendo Switch, especially for multiplayer chaos, this game delivers that fun title that can be played in short or long bursts. It's also a title where you can return many times and long after the blockbuster titles like Zelda Breath of the Wind or Splatoon 2 are forgotten, you'll definitely be coming back to this game as each time you play is different but where it works is with other people!
uyo Puyo Tetris is clearly a targeted game. If you don’t like Tetris/Puyo Puyo, there’s little to no reason to pick it up. But, for those that do love Tetris, it’s a delight and more than makes up for the lack of a good Tetris game on modern consoles.
Puyo Puyo Tetris is a puzzle masterpiece. Ideal for short bursts and extended sessions, it comes alive when other players join the riotous puzzle fray. Packed with content, prepare to become addicted.
This isn’t the best version of Tetris there has ever been, and I expect previous versions of Puyo Puyo have been more focused, but there’s no doubt that this chaotic mash-up of both, plus the exuberant – if overwhelming – presentation, make this a recommended purchase.
With some solid gameplay - and there is lots of it to be found - Puyo Puyo Tetris might just be one of the definitive puzzle games of 2017, particularly on the Switch where the handheld, play-on-the-go nature fits it like a glove.
A simple and charming package, that presents two proven puzzle games with some extra modes that add variety but not much else.

Prepare to become addicted once again as the mother of all time sinks is back and bigger than ever. Puyo Puyo Tetris is an absolute delight that will scratch that puzzling itch and plug the Tetrimino-shaped gap that's been left unfilled this generation so far. SEGA has competently engineered a mash-up that feels like the definitive version of not one but two timeless classics and packed enough variety into its plethora of modes to make it a somewhat essential purchase for both solo and social blockheads.
Puyo Puyo Tetris won't make converts out of those uninterested in Puyo Puyo or Tetris . Neither has been changed substantially for their latest outing. But those who still enjoy the occasional round of either puzzle game shouldn't hesitate to add the new mash-up to their PS4 or Switch collection.
Puyo Puyo Tetris does a great job of combining two addictive puzzle games into a feverishly fun product. The story mode is surprisingly well done, and offers some nice replay value even for those familiar with both series. Alongside the healthy amount of unlockables, modes, and options, the online multiplayer in particular shines, being a huge source of entertainment. Even if you have little experience with Puyo Puyo or Tetris, this is a satisfying experience with plenty to offer regardless of skill level.
