Promenade Reviews
Overall, Promenade is a beautifully-crafted adventure that delights players with its stunning visuals, immersive sound design and charming gameplay mechanics. Promenade is a must-play title for fans of platformers and adventure games with its captivating artistry, engaging narrative and dynamic gameplay.
Like the Great Elevator which takes you from beach to garden to mountain, Promenade unites several game elements you know and love in a way that still feels fluid. All this opens up a world that we were itching to explore. The collectathon gameplay is addictive, and the routes and puzzles are rewarding to complete. It might not elevate the genre, and it's not without faults or difficulty spikes, but that's okay with us because most of what it does stacks up.
Promenade is the 2d version of those classic 3d collectathon platformers we all love, and the sheer variety of the game is incredible.
We're going to close our review of Promenade on a very positive note, because the game offers us that. An experience that fills us with joys, sorrows, laughter and without forgetting the most important thing, a lot of fun, from the beginning to the end. The title succeeds, offering us a walk in an enchanting world.

Overall, Promenade is a deceptively simple-looking title that's full of things to do. There's plenty of variety to keep you hooked, with challenging puzzles and platforming elements to conquer. It's a sweet outing that's super-satisfying to play.
Promenade is a cute 2D platformer with heavy inspiration from 3D platformers of yore. It dips into other genres like puzzle, Metroidvania and collectathons and eases players into its varied gameplay ideas. While the game could explain things better, such as what buttons to press for certain mechanics, what it does is create a great and vibrant experience for its players. Considering this is the debut game from the team at Holy Cap, it's a fantastic achievement.
Promenade is a wholesome, well-crafted and consistently surprising platformer that puts fun and creativity front and center.
Promenade is a 2D platformer with puzzle game elements that offers a unique and fun gaming experience. Set in a fairy-tale-like environment with lovely artistic features, the game successfully captures a child's sense of wonder as they discover the world. Featuring a extensive array of puzzles, mini-games with a nostalgic '80s style, and uniquely beautiful landscapes, Holy Cap's creation delivers an engaging and stimulating gameplay.

Even with its areas not entirely remembering what you’ve done on a previous visit, however, Promenade is still a joy to play. It looks gorgeous, has a neat soundtrack, and is full of variety. What other game can you think of where you can go from finding chickens to playing a sneaky game of space invaders within minutes? If you love platformers, especially those that require you to collect things, consider Promenade a must-play.
It's noticeable how some of the platforming can be a little stiff, making certain precise platforming challenges a little more frustrating than they should be. However, at the end of the day Promenade is an absolute gem that will appeal to any kind of platforming fan. Don't let this one sneak past you.
Promenade is delicate, light and full of life, without being simple-minded or silly. With beautiful visuals and sharp mechanics, the game brings a series of intriguing and challenging tasks that value the player's ability to deal with problems, thus offering a fun and, at the same time, rewarding experience.

Promenade is one of those indie games that you need to have in your collection thanks to its superb gameplay and wide appeal.
Promenade is a surprise hit of early 2024. I hope it will be on the radar of many as it deserves so given its gameplay diversity, great level design, inventive puzzles, supremely charming presentation, outstanding soundtrack, and great technical Switch implementation. A light story and character development alongside several small technical mishaps do little to challenge this otherwise outstanding childhood fantasy.
While there’s no shortage of 2D platformers in a variety of forms nowadays, few manage to catch the whimsical, animated look that Promenade does so well. It’s a beautiful looking game, and as an added plus it’s actually fun to play, making it a platforming adventure you absolutely should not miss.
Promenade excels in its visual and gameplay design, creating a beautiful, fun, and satisfying puzzle platformer that will provide a worthy experience for the fans of the genre.
Promenade has a simple, yet mysterious, story and practical gameplay that is extremely well planned and executed for what is expected from a platformer. Its developer knew how to extract the qualities of classics of the genre and combine them with the identity of its creation, resulting in a title that will probably fulfill its role for longer than normally expected from an indie, despite occasional moments of boredom, which is common even in smaller games. If you enjoy platformers and are looking for an honest and well-made experience, you can go without fear.

Promenade was an enjoyable ride from start to finish, keeping me hooked until I finally managed to find all of the many cogs. The caveats are minimal, overshadowed by the excellent execution that provides so much content for the fun and engagement of different ages and abilities.

Promenade successfully recaptures that additive collectable gameplay in 2D form. Once I started collecting, I just found I couldn’t stop. The game may borrow ideas from other platformers. I feel it certainly adds enough personality to stand on its own. This is thanks to varied level design and its charming graphical design. Promenade falls a little short in some areas. Controls can be unforgiving in some of the tougher platform segments, and some of the ideas introduced in the game, like stealth, don’t always click. But despite these flaws, I found myself eager to explore the levels, finding as many cogs as I could. I highly recommend Promenade to any platforming fan or those looking for a positive gaming experience.
