64hoops Kingdom Come: Deliverance Review

More of a 7.5/10.
If you remove all the jank from this, you can easily see a GOTY contender on the level of RPGs like the Witcher 3. The story is so interesting and well written that it inspired mr to visit the country where this game was based on.
But you can clearly see the limited resources and time this team had to get the finished product out there, which sadly has a damper on the gameplay and immersion. Also, this is truly a love it or hate it type of experience depending on how you feel about the combat and unforgiving gameplay. Warhorse went for something more realistic with its medieval fighting vs other games, which can frustrate players extremely in the beginning, but it forces you to learn and actually get better at the game (Vs just leveling up and getting better perks/stats) which I wish most games would do. But that jank I mentioned (Bugs, unstable framerate, bad physics, etc) makes it more frustrating than it should be completing these combat scenarios, especially when saving the game is a challenge in itself! Also, there’s such a lack of tutorial for some of the game’s mechanics that can actually impact your playing experience (There was never any beginning tutorial for making potions…. why??).
But overall this is a fantastic adventure that has the potential to be one of the greatest RPG series of all time (KCD 2 takes that potential and makes it a masterpiece).
