Ageli Silent Hill 2 Review

I had never played the original game. This is a professional and slickly made psychological horror. I can understand why the original resonated so deeply, as its narrative is compelling and unique within the space. The highlight here is the audio - the soundscape is incredible and the music is possibly the best ambient score I've ever heard in a video game. The game itself takes a lot of cues from other modern AAA horror, such as Resi and TLoU. This lends to it feeling professional and slickly made, but I did feel it in parts made some of the combat scenarios a bit derivative. Other negatives of the game include some slightly wonky pacing, with a few sections overstaying their welcome. Overall, a definite recommend - it's one of the better horror video games of recent years.
