alvi Nioh 3 Review

This game is great. It is a good soul like that is approachable for new players and veterans alike. The game has a great demo. More games should opt for this model. I bought the main game right after finishing the demo.
There are a few small cons, and I will start with those. First, there is too much loot and too random as well. It is a chore to manage all of them while looking for the exact weapon I want. Second, you need to go through a lot of menus to understand all the mechanics. The tutorial could have been better, but I see how it would have taken too long to explain all the mechanics. This is a huge task for a newcomer to the series like me. Also, If I use the spirit meter during a boss fight and I fail to kill the boss it is not refilled. Farming it back up is a pain.
Besides these issues the game is great. I am enjoying my playthrough a lot more than Elden Ring due to the ability to change my build on the fly which makes this game one of the best souls-like I have ever played. This lets me strategize for bosses to find the best weapon/strategy to tackle each boss. I never felt stuck in my weapon choice or stat distribution like other similar games. I started with spear and dual katanas. In the middle I switched to katanas only and now I have a big hammer and dual katanas.
Exploration has not felt like a chore for me yet and it is handled very well. Exploring an area and unlocking secrets increase exploration level for an area and after reaching exploration level 4 all the secrets that I missed were revealed on the map for me. I think this is a good middle ground for most people. Some work is needed to reveal all the good stuff but no tedious exploration of all corners of the map is required.
The open world is very dense. I did not feel like I was wasting time just running from point to point. There is something interesting to do or fight most of the time.
The bosses are fun. After learning their patterns, they are easy enough to beat. I don’t have an optimized build, and I am still learning the complex fighting system, but I have not gotten stuck at a boss yet. Usually, I am done with a boss in 1 - 2 hours. Boss patterns are easy to understand and as I mentioned earlier, I can find a good build to beat a boss through trial and error easily.
In conclusion, the game is fun, approachable, does not waste time.
