Aramosg86 Red Dead Redemption 2 Review
Dec 19, 2025
This is the game of my life—my absolute peak as a gamer. Since finishing it, I play everything at a different pace and with a different mindset. It was the first time I ever pre-ordered a game; I rarely buy titles on day one, but I knew I had to experience RDR2 from the start. I took my time, exploring everything without worrying about achievements, just soaking it in. I fell in love with the characters, and Arthur Morgan’s ending left me in tears. I’ve never seen a 'hero’s redemption arc' handled this well in any book or movie.
Arthur stays with me. He was just a normal man who made terrible choices in a difficult time. He could have been happy, but his past wouldn't allow it. In the end, he lived with a communal spirit, serving others, only to die alone, betrayed by those he called friends. He saved John not because John deserved it, but because Arthur saw in him the life he could have had himself—and it frustrated him that John couldn't see the value of that second chance. I’m not usually a fan of Rockstar’s formula (I’ve only finished RDR1 and a couple of GTAs), but this game was different. I think about replaying it often, but I’m almost afraid to go back; I don't want to lose the magic of that first journey
