augsaug Far Cry 3 Classic Edition Review

Aiming sucks on controller. The weapon wheel with how slow it takes to switch makes how quick it can take to die in this game all the more painful. I don't really like the "Northern Savior" premise conceptually but it's fine in this game. The trippy scenes were cool but at some point was overused and felt unsatisfyingly disconnected killing Vaas in what felt like a random nightmare. But the world is gorgeous. Hunting is simple but feels rewarding. I like how the people in the world interact with the world around them. Though it felt difficult as you die almost as quickly as the enemies that level of danger makes you move cautiously. The voice acting is great though I think some reactions in situations were dulled for simplicity's sake. The writing is very good and Vaas is one of the most intriguing villains in a video game. This game is also one of the only cases where the Ubisoft exploration formula worked for me. The characters are great, the world is fun to play in, the music fits the tension-building gameplay very well, and The game isn't too long at around 20ish hours if you don't try to 100% it. Overall, good Game.
