Blackxshinobi Steelrising Review

I am just about done with this game and have streamed its entirety. Its a good game. Worth your time if you find the amazing deals for it. It's not Lies of P or Elden Ring... and it shouldn't have to be for people to enjoy it. (have to say that because everyone apparently want the same games over and over/ popularity contest....) The game feels good and runs well if you clean you PC, update it properly and have a good setup. I had very few issues with the game outside of a few frame drops at times which happens in every game. If I'm getting the smoothest performance 98 percent of the time on an ryzen 9 3950x / rtx 3060 and you aren't maybe its time to admit you know nothing about proper pc upkeep. The game feels good and has nice architecture. The locations are ok and the traversal is a neat touch with the game. you get platforming moments to get around and find secrets. The story is ok if you pay attention to it. One issue with the story is they constantly speaking English and mix in French randomly it throws me off sometimes. Lots of notes with names in them which I never knew how to say. The story is very straight forward and simple to understand and only confusing to those who skip or have listening/reading issues. The combat is what it is. I feel like people expect everything to be lies of p or elden ring in feel. But I feel the combat is the way it is because they wanted everything to feel more robotic because you are playing as a machine and fighting machines. Other than that its all standard soulslike combat to the feel and flow of it. There's way more options to fight with like charging into enemies with freeze charging, kicking them with fire, or sending out a string to shock enemies to put status effects on them(that costs resources to use but very impactful with combat options) and special abilities with the weapons you decide to use. Along with the general heavy and light attacks. I feel there's a bunch here especially for a game that's around 12-15 hours and that's me completing everything. There's one issue in the game that there is lack of enemy variation. There's like less than 20 enemy types you'll be fighting along the way. lots of enemies have the different elements to separate them but they all mostly do the same things but each element and different looking form of them do have one or two attacks that separate them. You just won't notice it until you play more. Theres chain enemies where some will spin attack longer of lunge at you more for example. But the game could have used more enemy types honestly. The bosses are ok. They are gimmicky in the way they do what they are programmed to do and you can easily figure them out by watching them for a short while. You'll probably only struggle on one or two of them until you lock in. There's issues with the game where you will get stuck on objects but I have experienced this so many times in every single souls game I have played to date... some act like this is an issue but it really isn't. (they refuse to believe not all souls games are lies of p or elden ring) The game is not all that difficult if you coming in expecting a brutal experience. There's a solid amount of weapons, outfits and items to customize and meet your own playstyle. At the end opf the day is it better than lies of P or elden ring... no. When you see the low IQ reviews where they always say go play the two games everyone has already played... you can tell those guys aren't really playing souls games. they playing whats popular. AS A SOULSPLAYER FROM THE ORIGINAL DEMON SOULS AND KINGS FIELD TIMELINE.... THIS GAME IS OK. Its a solid experience if you are into the genre and not the popularity of the mainstream games. You will run into issues like with any other game but what's here is a good start and would love to see more in the future. I liked my experience with the game and would love to see more. I love this genre and want more good games just like this to prosper here. so many bad ones (cough... mortal shell...) for us not to appreciate the good ones... lets not let only the best one monopolize the market.
