ConsciousGamer Dragon Age: The Veilguard Review
Nov 11, 2024
It is undeniable that a lot of effort and craftsmanship was put into some of the technical aspects of the game and the scenarios.
Unfortunately, that is where the positive elements of the game come to an end.
The preachy and condescending writing is absolutely atrocious and at times it feels like it was put together by a five year old. ChatGPT would do a much better job.
This brings down the entire story, narrative and character interaction, which is lame, boring, banal and cringey.
The gameplay loop starts fine but it quickly gets old after a four or five hours, becoming completely exhausting to have to fight the same monsters over and over again for tens of hours. Missions and side quests are not engaging and quickly become repetitive.
The cartoon aesthetics chosen for the characters and enemies is a massive step down from previous entries of the franchise.
In a nutshell, a colossal disappointment and a huge step down for a once beloved franchise.
