9 / 10.0 - Bayonetta 2
Feb 14, 2018

Overall, I cannot recommend Bayonetta 2 enough, this is a game that every Nintendo enthusiast and gamer should have in their collection. This game is a technical achievement in game design and has the pacing of classic video games that have defined a generation such as Ocarina of Time and Resident Evil 4. Bayonetta looks great, sounds great, and plays great. It's without a doubt, one of the greatest action games in the past decade.

Bayonetta gets a welcome reissue on Switch. The game's fluid gameplay and tough as nails difficulty remain firmly intact. There's a nice nod to the ecosystem the game now finds itself on with some cool costumes based on Nintendo royalty. Otherwise, it's the same game as before. Overall, I cannot recommend Bayonetta 2 enough, this is a game that every Nintendo enthusiast and gamer should have in their collection.

Dragon Quest Builders on Switch brings near-PS4 quality graphics with the portable aspect of the PS Vita. If you're going to play it anywhere, I recommend the Nintendo Switch.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is praised because it offers a wonderfully realized world, memorable moments, and near-endless things to do. While in some aspects the Switch version shows its age with dated graphics and stiff animations, it's so easy to look past when there's a vast world in your view with the sense of discovery around every corner. Bethesda succeeded at what most of us would have thought impossible just a few years ago, a full-fledged version of Skyrim that you can take with you anywhere you want; doesn't get much better than that.

Super Mario Odyssey is the best game available on Nintendo Switch, and just might be my favorite game of the year. It isn't just a masterclass of level and sound design, it's a celebration of the Super Mario franchise, and one of helluva celebration to take part in.

7.5 / 10.0 - Arms
Jun 7, 2017

ARMS is Nintendo's first new intellectual property on the Nintendo Switch. I'll be honest, when Nintendo first unveiled the title I wasn't too interested. The motion controls were a huge turnoff to me. I thought the years of waggle were through — unfortunately, they are not. As expected, the motion controls in ARMS just aren't very fun; definitely not my preferred way of playing the game. Luckily, ARMS allows you to play with traditional controls, and that's where the fun begins.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars  insures us that this series is still just fun and addictive as ever. Its new online 'tipping' system is original, and gives gamers more incentive to keep building. While Cross-Platform functionality is limited, you can't argue with getting two games for the price of one.
