Chris White's Reviews
Concrete Genie has some stunning visuals when you're free to paint, and the story is interesting enough to keep you playing until the end.
Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair is one of the best 2D platformers available. If you're looking for something filled with refined gameplay and fun levels, this is it.
Mutazione has a beautifully written narrative filled with wonderful characters and a captivating story.
Sayonara Wild Hearts isn't particularly long, but the catchy pop score and variety of levels give you a decent challenge.
Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered makes sufficient improvements to the visuals, bringing the same incredible JRPG to PC and PS4 without leaving any detail behind.
Star Wars Pinball is a superb time-waster, packing in plenty of fan service and some well-crafted pinball tables. If you're a Star Wars fan you need to play this!
eFootball PES 2020 has gameplay that feels much more realistic, and each game is more about careful approaches than counter attacks. Most of the modes remain relatively unchanged, but the actual game is lots of fun to play as long as you're not having issues with the AI.
NBA 2K20 is another fine entry into the franchise, with this year's story mode being its best yet. There are issues, but the good far outweighs the bad.
The Ninja Saviors: Return of the Warriors is a surprisingly dense beat-em-up that is lots of fun to play, and the old school aesthetic does it wonders.
For a free-to-play MMO, DC Universe Online is more than worth getting, and depending on how much you enjoy your time with it, you may consider sinking some cash into it. Getting to interact with all the superheroes and villains within the DC Universe was right up my street, and spending my cash to buy new upgrades and gear, as well as a sidekick that followed me around Gotham, made the time I had with DC Universe Online worth it.
Erica is by far the best game to feature in the PlayLink category, but some of the ideas are unnecessary. The acting is great, but the story never really picks up until the final third of the game.
Rad is a great roguelike that constantly evolves to give you plenty of options the more you play, with unique mutations and a different world to explore on each playthrough.
Madden NFL 20 is a great American Football game, and whilst it's better than last year, some of the mainstay modes could do with an overhaul.
The Church in the Darkness has created a story that makes you question the cult's motives with every playthrough. No game is the same, but even though their are some neat ideas, the technical issues can really hamper your enjoyment.
Whilst Dead in Vinland is a decent survival game, it can be punishing if you're not constantly managing every facet of your party.
With impossibly light trucks that flip over if you simply sneeze, incredibly repetitive gameplay and a pointless, bland open world, Monster Jam: Steel Titans just isn't fun to play.
Sea of Solitude is a powerful story of loneliness, perfectly complimented by a beautiful art style and score.
Samurai Shodown is a very different fighter to what you might be used to, but it offers a unique way to play, offering a different approach to the genre.
Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is a fantastic remaster, filled with great courses and plenty of replayability, even if the difficulty sometimes feels off.
Everybody's Golf VR offers the same gentle style of golf that the previous entry had, and the golf feels pretty realistic. Unfortunately, there's a lack of modes and limited variety of courses that bring the overall experience down.
