DarkerMS Death Stranding 2: On the Beach Review
Jun 29, 2025
A marked improvement in almost every single way from the original game. Story is way more focused, Kojima seems to know exactly how to use this cast to its fullest potential. The open-world sandbox is almost as good as MGSV.
The game has moments of downtime where you are meant to take in the sights and enjoy the journey, so if you are into constant rising action there will be breaks some might find frustrating. However, the campaign can still be relatively rushed and has way less padding than the first game for those who are here purely for Kojima’s storytelling; with the story being arguably his best and most complete since MGS3/Peace Walker. This is a must-play title for any PS5 owner unless you really didn’t like the first game.
