Dash Exlee Blades of Fire Review

Never have modern critics been so out of touch with reality! This game is incredible with top-notch quality throughout! This game is made by Mercury Steam. The dev who made Castlevania Lords of Shadow and Metroid Dread. Anyway his game is as good as "GOW" in my opinion. And better in many ways. First of the graphics look great. They're using their own engine that gives it a very unique look, wholly different than the homgenous looking UE 5. The world building really comes alive with this engine. Also the sound, music and voice acting are exemplary. But the real stand-out is the combat and forge system. Such a fun unique system. There are 7 weapon types with 5 sub-classes which adds a ton of variety. And within that weapon variety you also have steel/wood variety, which create almost endless combinations. It can seem a lot at first but stick with it and it all starts to make sense and becomes really fun. The combat is also somewhat unique. With triangle for head attack, x for low body, square for right side and O for left side. You then see what weapon works against each enemy. This game is an action rpg and not a really a souls-like, though you can parry. In addition to the combat the game also has some metroidvania type mechanics. There are also a ton of secrets. Curiosity and exploration is always rewarded. Finally enemy, boss and stage variety is very good and you're always introduced to new enemies and places on a regular basis. Overall I can't recommend this game enough and it will definitely be one of my GOTY contenders! I suspect this game will become a hit through word of mouth. It deserves to be as this game epitomizes why I game. Also the game is completely bug free and optimized. Which is rare these days, though it shouldn't be!
