Davicin49 Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Review

Apr 28, 2025
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is, without a doubt, one of the best RPGs we’ve seen in recent years. The depth of the world and the sheer number of choices available to the player reach levels rarely seen in the genre. Combat is both challenging and realistic, turning every encounter into a life-or-death struggle where a single blow can be fatal, maintaining a constant sense of tension. The story grabs you from the very beginning, picking up directly where the first Kingdom Come: Deliverance left off. The narrative pacing is masterfully handled: it starts off strong, slows down midway to give the player some breathing room, and then ramps up again towards a spectacular climax. The characters are captivating and endearing, building a vibrant and unforgettable world. Outside of combat, gameplay is perhaps one of the game’s less polished aspects. Although interactions with the world and NPCs are deep and varied, some elements, like stealth, can feel a bit clunky at times. Nevertheless, this does not detract from the overall immersion in 15th-century Bohemia, recreated with hyper-realistic detail in its landscapes, forests, and villages. On a technical level, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 comes close to perfection. The art direction and graphics engine truly transport you to the heart of medieval Europe, while the soundtrack, masterfully composed by Jan Valta, further enhances the sense of immersion with melodies that perfectly accompany each moment of the journey. This is not an easy game: at first, any enemy can swiftly defeat the player, forcing you to carefully plan your moves and continuously improve your gear and skills. However, as you progress, the difficulty becomes more manageable, without losing intensity during key battles against stronger foes. After more than 105 hours of gameplay, the final feeling couldn’t be more positive. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is an engrossing experience that leaves you wanting more — eager to complete additional side quests and looking forward to the announced DLCs. A must-play for any fan of realistic RPGs.
