dferlen Grand Theft Auto V Review

The game is brilliant, but the NPC and police system is absolutely dreadful. The bullets fired from the police officers’ guns are like bombs; I take cover behind a wall, but when the police fire a shotgun from a distance, the bullets ignore both walls and obstacles and hit me directly. As for the NPCs, their animations are very limited. In GTA 4, the animations are supported by physics-based systems in real time, unlike the classic ‘pre-rendered’ animations, for example. This creates a natural look; in GTA 5, if you shoot an NPC in the leg, they might die, but in GTA 4, they limp and the animations are brilliant. Another downside is that in GTA 4 there was combat, whereas in GTA 5 NPCs are sent to the afterlife with a single punch. In GTA 5, if you shoot someone, they die, but in GTA 4, if you shoot an NPC in the stomach or similar, they limp, bleed out, and collapse to the ground. When comparing elements like gameplay between GTA 5 and GTA 4, GTA 5 comes across as a clunky, poor game. Graphically, of course, it’s GTA 5.
