dferlen Assassin's Creed Unity Review

The game is absolutely brilliant: I’ve only come across this level of detailed, high-quality, attractive and realistic environment design in a handful of games. We wander and jump through crowded areas in narrow and wide streets and neighbourhoods, whilst NPCs are going about their business everywhere—we can choose to intervene or not. The interior designs, particularly those of churches, cathedrals and palaces, are magnificent. Being able to enter so many different interiors is a real treat. The combat is truly rich in animation and looks great. The downside of the combat is that sometimes, when guards are fighting us, they suddenly turn their swords towards us, piercing our vital organs, making it almost impossible to parry. When it comes to parkour, compared to other Assassin’s Creed games, this one is far more expansive, detailed, and simply magnificent in terms of parkour, jumping, and so on, though it’s a bit tricky at first. The storytelling is also excellent. What I liked most about this game was that the level design is absolutely incredibly realistic and detailed. In fact, despite being this incredibly realistic and having such detailed environmental design (and plenty of events happening in the environment), the fact that it’s only 50–60GB is truly amazing. It’s definitely worth a try.
