Divine677 Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter Review

Adding to the amazing Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, this sequel does the impossible by improving every aspect presented from its predecessor. From having one of the best casts in gaming, with each having their own well thought out motivations, to the depth of their writing being as vast as the Trails series itself. The interactions between each cast member also add an enjoyable feel to the game, making it feel real experience as you get to know the cast from the inside out. The combat is also superb, improving upon Falcom's trademark hybrid style system introduced in the Calvard arc. Seamless transitions from fast-paced action combat, to the more strategic turn based style the fans know and love. With their own unique equipment, you can customize how each character can play, experimenting with any playstyle you want. It's no stretch to say the system you learned in 1st Chapter is greatly improved here, with a lot new challenges presented as the enemies start to use the techniques you have use, even showcasing unique way the player could have used them before. The story is also amazing, with many payouts from 1st chapter for old and new fans returning to the sky arc. I won't say too much for this section, as it really is an experience you need to see first hand to truly appreciate. All in all, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say this is the golden standard for rpgs and remakes alike. If you are having second doubts about trying the series, go ahead and try the demos they contain 10 hours of gaming content that you can transfer over if you are impressed by what you have played.
