FCisSOMONEYHUNGRY EA Sports FC 26 Review
Jul 18, 2026
**Recommended?** No.
EA FC 26 isn't a football game anymore—it's a casino disguised as one.
Every year EA tells everyone they've "rebuilt the gameplay," "improved realism," and "listened to community feedback." Every year it's the exact same script. The only thing they consistently improve is finding new ways to get people to spend money.
The gameplay is an absolute joke.
Passing is still inconsistent. Player switching still chooses everyone except the player you actually need. Tackles bounce straight back to your opponent. Goalkeepers alternate between prime Buffon and someone who's never seen a football. The servers somehow get worse every year, so half the time you're fighting input delay instead of your opponent.
But don't worry—EA added more PlayStyles!
Because apparently the answer to broken gameplay isn't fixing the gameplay. It's adding another RPG system that makes players feel like they're from a fantasy game instead of actual football.
The funniest part? None of the world's biggest stars actually feel like themselves.
Messi doesn't play like Messi.
Mbappé doesn't move like Mbappé.
De Bruyne doesn't pass like De Bruyne.
Vinícius doesn't dribble like Vinícius.
They're all just generic footballers with different ratings and a few shiny badges next to their names. EA thinks slapping "Technical+" or "Finesse+" on a player magically recreates years of unique movement, intelligence, and personality. It doesn't.
Football is about individuality. FC 26 strips almost all of it away.
Career Mode? Neglected.
Clubs? Barely touched.
Pro Career? Same recycled content.
Ultimate Team? Funny how that's the only mode that gets endless attention because that's where the money comes from.
EA doesn't fix the problems that have been in the series for years because they don't have to. People keep buying the game, streamers keep opening packs, and every September the cycle starts all over again.
What's really insulting is that EA has every advantage imaginable. They have the licenses. They have the stadiums. They have the player scans. They have billions in revenue. Yet they still deliver a game that feels unfinished every single year because fixing core gameplay doesn't sell packs.
Instead of investing in better AI, realistic movement, physics, refereeing, animations, or responsive online gameplay, they spend their time inventing another buzzword feature to put on the back of the box.
FC 26 isn't terrible because it's missing content.
It's terrible because it keeps replacing football with marketing.
This franchise stopped trying to simulate football years ago. Now it's just an annual store update with a football minigame attached.
**0/10. See you all next September when EA promises they've finally "reinvented football" again.**
