i refunded the game after less then an hour
turn based RPG's are ment to have a story that grabs you and gets you interested
this game does not have that, after the first cutscene i found myself spamming past dialog and insta skipping cutscences, not good for a game thats hook
A Masterful JRPG.
As a fan of JRPGs, having a game like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 makes me very happy, for so many reasons but, basically, it’s clear the developers of this game really love their video games, the ones that made them who they are and do what they do,
This game is truly a milestone in JRPG games. Sets new standards for the future of the genre in both gameplay, plot and music. A real 10/10 game.
I am typically not a big fan of turn-based games. I've usually struggled with staying committed to that combat style, even when I know there is a good story involved in a game.
Expedition 33 completely changed that for me.
Expedition 33 is a masterpiece that had me looking forward
absolute masterpiece. The combat is fluid, fast and engaging, doesnt feel like a slog to get through as that is a problem in a lot of turn based rpgs.
The story is the best i have ever seen. hands down.
100% it in roughly 60 hours. Been curious about this game since its first reveal. Wanted something to scratch that Legend of Dragoon/Shadow Hearts itch, ended up with a masterpiece. Loved every single thing about this title, from gameplay, story, visuals to the eargasmic soundtrack. It's a game with a
The game is really good, since everything is so good, I'll just mention what I did not like:
- The party of characters uses a weird number that doesn't let you have a nice second team.
- The colliders of the objects on the ground feel clunky, and you get stuck sometimes.
-
a masterpiece love letter to the jrpg genre improving on the formula at every turn
I don't leave reviews, but I made an account just to post how overwhelmed I am by CO:E33, it's my GOTY by a country mile and the most fun I've had in ages. I've played through it twice already, it's simply that good.
Expedition 33 is, quite frankly, unbelievably good. The team and Sandfall Interactive have put together a game that is greater than the sum of its parts, which is no small feat considering each of its parts are all 9 to 10 out of 10 already.
If I could give higher than
After more than 30 hours of play, I can tell you that, whether it's for the artistic direction, the narration, the gameplay or the soundtrack, this game should be classified as a UNESCO world heritage site.
THIS is what game should be. This is exactly what Square Enix should have done. This game is just the peak, I have 34 yo, playing since 7, and this game hits hard like Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 7/9, Octopath Traveler. I don't get this addicted since Elden Ring. Congratulations
This game is amazing. The writing, the atmosphere, the characters, the ost and the battle system are all top notch. This is up there with BG3.
Very fun game with good storytelling and well done linear pathing. The most fun I had with the game was over the first 70% or so of the game before it begins to wear thin. Could have benefitted from some additional RPG elements and varying gameplay to keep it from
"Oh nice I get to do combat, my favorite part. Oh nice a cutscene, my favorite part. Oh nice I get to set up my build, my favorite part. Oh nice, exploration, my favorite part. Oh nice, characters to talk to, my favorite part"

This game blew me away right from the beginning to the final Is sing it's praise more
