Extremely overrated, as is typical for Nintendo games.
Bad graphics (low quality textures, shadows, lighting, geometry);
poor upscaler (FSR1 in 2025);
uses double buffered vsync so the frame rate frequently jumps between 30 and 60, which shouldn't happen for graphics as dated as these;

The first half of the game introduces a new concept for Donkey Kong and gaming in general. Second half of the game fully utilizes the concept after becoming familiar with it and its amazing in its entirety. For that reason, you don't truly experience the game until the second half.
The best 3D platformer of the decade. Mario 64 level of greatness!
Best 3D platformer I played since Mario Odyssey, it's just pure fun.
The destruction mechanics and the transformations are really addictive.
Art direction will devise but I really enjoy it, everything as a purpose to help you understand what you breaks and all.
Absolutely amazing experience! Nintendo magic at its finest.
Fantastic platformer with an impressive technological side. You can shape the game world any way you want, make holes in it, stack stones, do whatever, and i've never seen anything like it. The amount of stuff the switch holds in memory is unbelievable.
And it's great fun, gotta be a 10/10
Best platformer ever made. The "journalists" that gave this game less than 9.5 should quit their job and start cleaning toilets. Seriously, this is as perfect as a game can be.
