Gameternel The Last of Us Part II Remastered Review
Nov 18, 2025
One French YouTuber (s/o to Jean-Baptiste Show) said, when reviewing the game, that’s it’s a game you hate to love. I agree with him, although I see a lot of people online doing the opposite: they love to hate it.
Speaking only about what it made me feel, I would say it’s not a perfect game, nor is it the game of the decade. And yet, this game did a lot of good. It expanded the world it built in the first part. It developed even more characters, some you’d never guess you’ll feel empathy for. It explored grief, hatred, vengeance, guilt, joy and hope, too. I feel like the whole team working on this game gave so much of themselves, and this is beautiful to know and feel through the story.
Besides that, I would have loved for the story to end like 5 hours before it did. I almost stopped playing all in all several times, because it was soooo long. I have finished Days Gone without problem, it never felt too long, but this did. It’s true to say that I, as anyone else, expected a lot from this second part, but this doesn’t mean it’s necessarily game length-related.
All in all, if one day we see a third part, I’d definitely check it out. I hope it will find something new to tell, now that we’ve went through the discovery of this world and then the aftermath of our actions. But if this is the end, it was great. I hope it won’t just stop on the basis of all the hate it received, of the negative backlash it had. I enjoyed the characters. Please don’t stretch their stories just for the sake of it, but heck yes if there’s more to tell.
