Genghis_McKhan Dune: Awakening Review

Is a game bad if only the end is bad? That's what this review comes down to. If the ending of a story is bad enough (Mass Effect 3) then it can absolutely ruin the rest of the game and even the series. For a live service game, if the endgame is bad, what is going to keep players coming back? Dune Awakening is a great game until you reach the Deep Desert, at which point it becomes a toxic disaster that the devs have gleefully defended. They have a history or trying to support griefing as a play style which can be seen from their clashes with the mostly PVE Conan player base. This time it's worse because they do not allow PVE servers at all. Even private servers are forced to feed prey to the griefers. If you want to play a really good survival game for 60 hours and then don't care about getting the last tier of all equipment (including for PVE activities like survival, gathering, and refining), you'll have a good time. Otherwise you'll leave feeling disappointed because they lied by claiming PVP was always optional (stopping playing isn't a credible option) and ran 90% of the game with it being optional before pulling the rug out.
