Every time i try to come back to this game, i remember why i quit playing it. The gameplay is incredibly tedious and boring most of the time, and the ai is so annoying to deal with. For example i was playing as Menelaus, his main ability is recruiting unique units from allied factions, but the ai forms confederations so quickly and often, and when they confederate, you aren't able to recruit those units anymore, making his ability completely useless. Another issue is how often the ai will pointlessly declare war on you, and raze a random city before begging for peace with you. The game also has many bugs. I can't recommend the game to anybody that wants to have a fun experience.
