Havok Asphalt Legends Unite Review

Apr 4, 2025
Despite being a PC gamer for over 40 years, this series somehow escaped my notice until last summer. I'm guessing my review might not have been so bad if I had played their previous iterations. This isn't an excuse, just an explanation. Anyway, this game is actually halfway decent if you have $50+ dollars per month, but the F2P leaves much to be desired, and there are many paywalls. The learning curve is also fairly steep, and support leaves a LOT to be desired. There are also countless ways to misunderstand, and much seems deliberate at times. There are many different track configurations, and some that look identical yet you wreck on one even if you drive the same as you do when you completely dominate the other one, which is extremely frustrating. There are also ample opportunities to mix up cars, especially when they have many different versions of the same car with little difference. There are also many instances when you won't get credit for objectives, or the objectives don't match what you actually got such as in the Showroom races. There are multiple long standing issues similar to the Showroom race snafu, where they seem to have made a decision to just not fix it. And again, support is HORRIBLE. Just recently they had major purchase issues including one that impacted me, and I found they disconnected their phone lines and the Play store support email refers customers to their website, which did not reply to my request for support for over 24 hours. For a PURCHASE issue. Think about the worst GOTCHA game you ever played except it's racing instead of fighting. As such, if you're on PC, I recommend playing a REAL game instead of this carny ripoff nonsense.
