HearthP Dragon Age: The Veilguard Review
Nov 3, 2024
Your enjoyment of this game may depend on which BioWare series is your favourite.
While I’ve always been a Dragon Age fan, my love of BioWare truly comes from Mass Effect and KotoR. This game clearly takes more from the formula of Mass Effect than it does Dragon Age.
That means a stronger focus on action, companion commands and tighter more crafted level design over a sprawling open world and turn based combat. A combat style the franchise hasn’t implemented in fifteen years. That’s not to say you can’t micro manage your companions in combat, because that’s EXACTLY playing.
For the me the GOAT of BioWare games has always been the Mass Effect trilogy. And that’s the game Veilguard feels most alike.
