Ingepunk South of Midnight Review

South of Midnight is an absolutely top-notch game in the style of Alice Madness Returns or Psychonauts, an action-adventure platformer. Beautifully designed, with wonderfully detailed graphics, a great art style, and a fantastic soundtrack. The narratives of the main and side stories are well-written and entertaining across the board, even if the main story is somewhat predictable. Gameplay-wise, the game is quite solid. Genre-wise, you'll be climbing and jumping around a lot. The battles take place in arenas that are firmly anchored in the world. So, solid, nothing special. Certain sequences also repeat themselves too often. A bit more variety would have been good. Technically, the game is also quite smooth. In 11 hours of gameplay, I only experienced one crash, and the heroine occasionally glitched awkwardly up and down on platform edges. Otherwise, nothing that would deter you from completing the game. Conclusion: Great game! Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys a good story and the genre! 8/10
