JazzyManiac98 Life is Strange: Double Exposure Review
Nov 3, 2024
After completing this game, I was left with more than a conflicting disbelief knowing this is where the franchise is going. Considering I have been a part of this LIS community since 2015. I'm concerned this is what Decknine would call a worthy sequel with heavy decisions influenced by player choice. Given this installment was one where the actual choices themselves felt non-impactful when we gave way to the last episode and its final act. We came back to a beloved character only for the sake of rehashing the previous installment(s) nostalgia. While beautiful in its visuals and phenomenal performances. This game did nothing worthwhile for the emotional narrative & it's other character(s). The first 3 episodes were a worthy hit with all the mystery afoot, and the music drove the indie ambience forward in the reflection scenes. All the while presenting us with a cool new power on timeline switching and shifting abilities. The fun & illusion of choice was only for a mere while...as we swerved into a muddy absurd second half laying out an ending that came and went leaving it to be seen as an unorthodox throw in because the writers drove it into a harsh corner-making everything leading up to it ...meaningless to a degree.
