Jebus Signalis Review

Oct 14, 2026
Signalis is wasted potential, but a passion project nonetheless. Very clearly it's a Silent Hill story in an early Resident Evil game, but it does both things actually quite mediocre. Putting it nicely... the gameplay gets stale, the horror isn't horror, and the story is "trying too hard". The more you understand about the story, the worse it actually gets. It doesn't help that it feels like the game was just a method to reference things they liked just for the sake of it. At times it does get rather pretentious and eye-rolling. The larger setting itself is easily the best part of the game and I wish there was more and it was properly meaningful. It's so competent and thought out it even has its own narratives... that it's a complete shame how it's basically just an elaborate decoration. It's scarcely relevant at best and only because the story happens to take place within the confines of an otherwise great setting that far outstrips it. Finally, I feel as though people put too much weight into the endings and I don't believe the game "earned" it. People see the ending they got, watch the other endings on youtube, and rate the game 10/10. If the story was more focussed I could forgive that and be on board with a 9/10. But instead the ending(s) just sort of happen and the gameplay doesn't fill the enjoyment gap.
