Johnknight1 Metroid Dread Review

After almost 2 decades, the 1st new 2D Metroid entry did not disappoint. This game was not what I expected upon first booting it up, and that was for the better. This game has so many great moments, with a creepy horror meets thriller meets action game atmosphere. This games' scope feels so controlled and focused, it runs beautifully, and it looks outstanding. The bosses, gameplay and world are probably the best the series has ever seen, and the overcoming the final boss feels like overcoming Dio Brando, Dracula in Castlevania and a Xenomorph from Alien all at once. If I have to wait almost two decades for the next 2D Metroid game again I will be disappointed, but if it is as good as Dread, I will be there day one again. I recommend this game to anyone who likes any sort of 2D platform or action game. This is my favorite 2D entry in perhaps the most underappreciate franchise in video gaming.
