Far superior to the previous installment. This studio has an incredible talent for creating unique, incredibly charismatic characters and a setting that’s perfectly suited for mystery. The narrative has improved significantly compared to previous games, as have the puzzles. Even the art—which was already hard to top. Several of the characters in this cast will stay with me for a long time, along with the way they weave the fantastic and the mystical into a very human and personal mystery. The voice acting is also worthy of admiration. The entire game is fully voiced with magnificent performances. And one lovely detail is that you can ask the characters about EVERY clue you have, and they’ll give you their own insight on each one. There are no repetitive messages like in other series (Ace Attorney, for example). One major criticism I had with the previous game was the difficulty of the puzzles and interrogations—they were too easy. They’ve fixed that in this one. That’s why it gets my 5 stars.
