A beautiful game inside and out. I'll get the negatives out of the way first: the gameplay itself is not very complicated and by the end of the game, the climbing mechanics can become a bit repetitive and boring. The game ends when it needs to and doesn't overstay its welcome, so the mechanics don't become entirely overused and annoying. The environments are beautiful. The hot sun reflecting off the orange rock surfaces, the gigantic caverns interwoven by dried-out roots, the sense of scale when looking back at the world beneath me, made me stop many times, just to take it all in. Don't Nod really hit the nail on the head with the game's lighting and visual style. I loved reading the little messages and journal entries scattered around throughout my journey. The ending made it feel like it was worth climbing up so many walls and overcoming five hours' worth of obstacles. This was a great palette cleanser between bigger releases, I'm glad I got around to finally playing it.
